I have, to day resigned from the post of Chairman of the Branch. Please see letter below.
Please accept this letter as my formal resignation from the position of Branch Chairman, effective from the AGM in 2026. This has not been an easy decision, but one I have reached independently after careful reflection. Over the past year, personal health matters and family responsibilities have made it difficult for me to fully commit to the Branch and Club as I have always strived to do.
It has been a privilege to serve RAFA for over 45 years, including my time volunteering with the RAF, the Burma Star Association, as a RAFALO, and within the Branch—17 years as Secretary and 6 years as Chairman. I have devoted much of my life to this work, and I have truly enjoyed every moment.
I’ve often been encouraged to slow down and now feels like the right time to step aside and allow someone else to take the lead. I will do everything I can to ensure a smooth transition, including handing over all relevant paperwork and responsibilities to support the incoming Chairman.
I would like to express my sincere gratitude to all Committee members, past and present. It has been an honour to work alongside such dedicated individuals. We have always been, and will remain, a team.
