A final update from your volunteer community fundraisers:

Thank you, well done, you’re all amazing. 👏👏👏

Your generosity and support in raising nearly £5000 has helped the Council’s working party and Nik’s team to finish phase one and to secure some very impressive grant-funding for phase two (£20,000) and it’s now time for us to step back and move on to supporting other projects.

Contact details for all sponsoring businesses and individuals have been passed to the working party team members, who will be in touch with you in due course with arrangements for your onsite public acknowledgments.

For future updates on the Skate Park follow the social media accounts of Westgate-on-Sea Town Council and Skate Pharm

This is brilliant news! As is the £20,000 grant secured by Westgate-on-Sea Town Council for phase two. 👏👏👏

We also want to say a big thank you to our local community for all the small coinage you’ve popped into our collection pots in Westgate’s shops - £117 has just been added to the online gofundme page on your behalf. It’s standing currently at not far off £5,000, raised by the local community (not counting in-kind donations of time, skills and materials) which is just marvellous. 👏👏👏 You’ve cheered and supported our young, and you’ve helped spread the word about this wonderful project - so you are all brill too ❤️

What a lovely town we live and work in ❤️

The kids are heading back to school this week and work is starting on Phase Two of the Lymington Road skatepark build.

This is very exciting, but it does mean that the existing new ramp will be out of use while the park is completed.

Watch this space and we’ll keep you updated with progress!

Our Guest Wall exhibition this month is a photomontage put together by local resident and photographer Sarah Wyld.

It’s also a Westgate Skatepark fund-raiser, featuring photos of skateboarding over the past fifty years all of which you can buy this month at bargain prices. Sarah is donating all proceeds from the exhibition to help phase two of the development on Lymington Road, and we have waived the hire fee as it’s a local project we are very happy to be supporting too; it’s important young people have interesting and stimulating things to do locally out of school hours.

Why not pop in and show your support? You can also pick up information about the skatepark community build and how to help itv practically as well as financially.

Open 10am to 5pm, Mondays to Saturdays. Children and doggies welcome too!
