It’s very nearly time for OKTOBERWEST!!

Oktoberwest is here! 🥨🌭💃🏽🕺🏼🇩🇪🍻And there are still a few tickets available from our usual sellers up until 3pm today or you can message us here. Any remaining tickets will be available at the door.
Here are some FAQs about the event:

What do I get for my £25 ticket?
A free drink worth £5, entertainment provided by the finest oompah band this side of Fickmühlen - the Dickie Horn Allstars - plus a supporting set from Westbourne’s very own Liebfraumilchmen 🚽💨. There’ll be dancing and games and a fantastic evening of Germanic fun in a hall decorated to look just like a Munich bier keller. And an extra hour sleep Sunday morning!😴

Do I have to dress in traditional German style clothes?
Nein! Wear whatever you want but we will be holding a best and würst dressed competition.

Can I bring my dog/gerbil/penguin?
No

What drinks will be available?
We have sourced 2 very drinkable German style pilsners that will be served in steins. There will also be w**e, Prosecco, c***r and a range of soft drinks. Alcohol free la**rs - we will check.

What food will be on offer?
A delicious choice of either bratwurst, curry wurst or a vegan wurst 🌭 all served with a range of traditional toppings and sauces. There will also be pretzels.

Is there parking at the Westbourne Community Hall?
There is limited parking available on the street.

What time does it start/finish?
1830 to 2230

Can I get a refund if I can’t make it?
No. We will only offer a refund if the event is cancelled.

Who are Westbourne Weekend?
We are a group of volunteers and friends who, for the past 26 years, have been putting on fun events in the village in order to raise money for local good causes. In addition to Oktoberwest we run the duck race, the Groove on the Grass music festival and put up a tree and illuminations in the Square at Christmas. Get in touch if you’d like to join us.

Oktoberwest takes place at the Westbourne Community Hall from 6.30pm on Saturday 24 October, tickets are £25, the Dickie Horn Allstars oompah band are providing music and games, there’s German style food and beers. Grab your lederhosen and your dirndl- what’s the wurst that can happen!? 🥨🎉🍻

We would be lost without Westbourne's Southern Co-op. It acts as an important part of village life - a place to buy groceries, use the Post Office and cash machine, and bump into friends.

The Council is finding out more about the proposed closure and will submit a comment on behalf of the local community by the deadline of 27 October 2026.

We recommend that you also send your comments as the more people they hear from, they more they are likely to listen.
