Our very own Katy joined Katy Creative Boom · Art & Design for a chat about being yourself, creative confidence and why no one can copy you of course, Wilson’s Republic naturally came up. 🙂
She talks of how Wilson’s isn’t about networking in the stiff-name-badge-lanyard-and-small-talk sense. And about our community that’s grown over the last 10 years made up of the kind of people who show up, share generously, ask honest questions, admit when things feel hard, cheer each other on and make the creative industry feel a little less like a greasy pole and a lot more like a room full of humans doing their best.
Katy spoke about how Wilson’s keeps her close to what’s really happening in the creative community - the conversations, the shifts, the worries, the wins, the “how are we all actually doing chatter?” underneath it all.
And that’s what Wilson’s has always been about.
Not hierarchy. Not ego. Not pretending you’ve got it all nailed.
Just creatives supporting creatives.
Learning from each other.
Being in awe of the brilliant people who walk through the door.
And remembering that the real magic isn’t in the famous names, the shiny titles or the mythical top of the ladder.
It’s in the people who make the community.
You can listen to the full Creative Boom episode: Why Being Yourself Is Your Biggest Creative Advantage, with Katy Ennis-Hargreaves of BOLDISM® 🌈 Brand & Design Studio for Katy for speaking about what Wilson’s means - and for reminding us that substance, kindness and a bit of rebellion will always beat beige industry BS.
