It is with a heavy heart that I have to announce the closure of the WMA Community Fitness Centre.
What initially started as a manageable passion project for the local community rapidly snowballed into something myself and the team never expected. The initial response to our work from our community was great and we’ve made some firm friends and fond memories over the years working with various groups, educational establishments and grass roots clubs offering a variety of services at minimal (or in some cases zero) cost.
However our initial success was not able to make up for the various obstacles that have presented themselves in recent years. In spite of our best efforts we’ve ultimately been financially scuppered and left with no other option.
We were unprepared and undermanned for the sheer amount of work required in keeping a place like this open and meeting its charitable aims. Coupled with a huge decline in local public interest and some nefarious action against us it was inevitable that we would not be able to remain operational.
We thank those who have supported us over the years and wish you all the best.
