The League of Friends of Crawley Hospital was founded in 1949 and has been supporting Crawley Hospital ever since. In 2008 we decided to adopt the newly built Langley Green Hospital and become The League of Friends of Crawley Hospitals. Why are we needed? The Hospitals are funded by the National Health Service, but, because of the costs of medical services, not every potential requirement can be m
et from the NHS budget. Our purpose, therefore, is to identify and finance those things which, while undoubtedly of real added benefit, would fall outside or not normally qualify for this NHS funding. Why do we need you? The more money we raise, the more help we can give. That is why we are keen to welcome new Friends (membership is open to anyone for a modest annual or life subscription) and to encourage donations. We always need those who can volunteer some time to help with our Events, Collections and the Charity Shop. The opportunities are almost limitless. Who are we? We have been brought together by our sympathetic interest and are from all walks of life: former patients, their relatives and friends; ex-members of staff and other well-wishers. What do we do? Our primary aims are to provide help and equipment for the comfort and well-being of patients, their relatives and staff. We also contribute towards buying some badly-needed technical apparatus for professional use in the Hospital.
