🦔 Peekaboo! 👀💕

Yesterday, this little lady had a rather frightening adventure after falling into a hole left by roadworks in Portswood! Thankfully, she was spotted and rescued before any harm could come to her ❤️

Here she is playing peekaboo with fosterer Sonia, who's currently taking good care of her 🥰

She'll be staying with us for a while so we can give her a thorough check-over, including looking for any injuries from her fall and checking for parasites, before we're happy that she's fit to return to the wild.

Whilst we're so grateful she was rescued, incidents like this really shouldn't happen. Open holes and trenches can be death traps for hedgehogs and other wildlife. We really wish councils and contractors would take more care to ensure excavations are properly covered or made safe when work isn't taking place.

A little consideration could save a little life 🦔❤️

For now, at least, this little lady is safe, warm and in good hands! ❤️🦔❤️

MEET THE DYNAMIC DUO OF DOOM… GERARD & BUMBLES!

Well, well, well… if it isn’t Gerard and Bumbles, the guys who apparently decided that having ONE parasite problem would be far too boring! 🫣😂

These two little warriors are battling lungworm, roundworm AND fluke. Because clearly, if you're going to have a party, you might as well invite EVERYONE! 😭💀

But wait… THERE'S MORE! 🤦‍♀️

After everything they've been through, BUMBLES HAS FINALLY FOUND THEIR FACE!

Somewhere beneath all the illness, treatment and general nonsense, Gerard and Bumbles are slowly starting to reveal the gorgeous little personalities they've been hiding from us! 🥹

Meanwhile, Gem is fairly certain Gerard is still plotting his escape, and Bumbles is probably sitting there thinking, "Mate, if you find a way out, PLEASE let me know!"

These poor guys have a lot to overcome, and their recovery is going to take time, patience and plenty of TLC. But we're rooting for them every step of the way. ❤️

So, Gerard and Bumbles, listen up…

THE PARASITES ARE NOT INVITED TO STAY, THE ESCAPE PLAN IS ON HOLD, AND WE EXPECT TO SEE MORE OF THOSE BEAUTIFUL FACES! 🤣🫶

😂🚨 DANGEROUS DEREK UPDATE! 🚨😂

DD has apparently looked out the window, seen the British weather, and decided…

“RELEASE? IN THIS WEATHER?! ABSOLUTELY NOT, THANK YOU VERY MUCH!” 🌧️🤣🫣

This sneaky little man has clearly worked out that if he eats *just enough* to keep everyone happy but not quite enough to hit his release weight, he can extend his all-inclusive indoor luxury stay indefinitely! 💀😂

Why rush to leave when you have a cosy indoor life, a personal p**p inspector in Taz, room service and absolutely NO intention of facing the great outdoors in these conditions?! 🤣🏡

“Sorry, humans, but I’ve reviewed the forecast and I’m going to have to respectfully decline putting on any significant weight this week. I shall be maintaining my current body mass until further notice.” 😂🫣

DD, WE SEE YOUR GAME, YOU LITTLE PRICKLY CON ARTIST! 🤣🤣

From a poorly 150g little boy fighting for recovery to a cheeky little weather forecaster manipulating his release date… this boy has discovered the art of playing the system! 😂❤️
