Today is International Pronouns Day, a day to encourage the sharing of pronouns and promote their respectful use.

Using someone's correct pronouns is an important part of respecting their identity and helping everyone feel included.

Mistakes happen, but what matters is how we respond. If you get someone's pronouns wrong, simply correct yourself, apologise briefly and carry on with kindness and respect.

At NION, we believe in respecting and celebrating people's individual identities, and treating others as we would wish to be treated 🩷

We’re putting together an A to Z of cancer support organisations on the Isle of Wight. Do you know an organisation we could include? From breast cancer to prostate cancer, skin cancer and bowel cancer. Please let us know if there’s an organisation we should include.

Our popular LGBT+ Meet Up takes place on the first Saturday of the month. It’s this Saturday October 3 from 10.30am until 12.30pm.

It’s a friendly and inclusive group that meets for coffee in The Fitting Room on the first floor of the fabulous Department, Cross Street, Ryde.

We had a lovely morning in the garden sunshine at One Holyrood Hotel Newport IOW on Saturday. Our next Book Club is on Saturday October 31 from 10.30am until 12.30pm and this month we’re reading Palaver by Bryan Washington.

Such a fun time at the monthly LGBTQ book club I attend from Out On An Island IW! This month it was Leeward and The Devil to Pay ♥️ Jill's Leeward t shirt absolutely made my whole week 😂😂

Since Fighting with Pride was founded over six and half years ago we have connected hundreds of LGBTQ+ Veterans across the country and from around the world.

Many of you have shared your stories, lobbied, campaigned, travelled the ups and downs of the campaign and shared the pain of the delays.

As we await the outcome of the application for a Judicial Review, there is a deadline looming. 12th December 2026 is the end of the road for applications for both Discharge Dismissal Payments, Impact Payments AND NON Financial reparations.

We believe there are upto 1000 more people to come forward. In the first thirty day of our Battle For Lost Veterans campaign we found 50 more Veterans who between them could be eligible for more than £3,000,000 of reparations.

We don’t want anyone to miss out. So as well as asking LGBTQ+ People- DID YOU SERVE? We are also asking a wider question of everyone?

Please share and post this message and graphic to encourage others to come forward and ask your friends family and neighbours to share too.

The next Veteran to come forward could be someone who is now in their early 40s or under in their late 80s.

Let’s not leave anyone behind.
