Smalls for All We collect NEW pants and new or gently worn bras for people in Africa and the UK who can’t afford or can’t get any. Because dignity matters.

Smalls for All® is a charity that collects NEW pants and new or gently worn bras for people in Africa and the UK who can't afford or can’t get any. Giving pants and bras may seem like a small thing, but it can make a life-changing difference. For example, each month many teenage girls miss school and women miss work because having no pants means they're forced to stay at home during their period. Men need pants too of course, with requests coming from, for example, homeless charities in the UK and hospitals in Africa. Every pair of brand new pants and every new or gently worn bra you send helps us make a difference to someone’s life. Find out more on our website www.smallsforall.org. Since our last Talking Pants, we’ve provided new pants and new or gently worn bras to 10 organisations:
📦 330 pairs of pants to Rowley Projects, a charity working with school children and villagers of Nyandiwa, Kenya.
📦 544 pairs of pants to Streets Kitchen, a charity working with people experiencing homelessness across London.
📦 30 pairs of pants to Days for Girls to be included in their menstruation kits for girls in the Gambia.
📦 1,050 pairs of pants and bras to Care4Calais, an organisation supporting refugees in and around the Slough and Heathrow region.
📦 190 pairs of pants to be taken to Woodlands primary school in Cape Town, South Africa, by pupils and staff of Larbert High School, Falkirk.
📦 140 pairs of pants to The Salvation Army in London who support survivors of trafficking and modern day slavery.
📦 315 pairs of pants and bras to El-Roi Ephphatha empowerment foundation, a non-profit working with disadvantaged families in Lagos, Nigeria.
📦 85 pairs of pants to The Simon Community, a street work service for people sleeping rough in central London.
📦 400 pairs of pants to Assisting Humanity and Blossoms, a registered community-based organisation in Nairobi, Kenya, who work with vulnerable youths and children living in informal settlements.
📦 924 pairs of pants and bras to be taken to various organisations in and around Lilongwe, Malawi, by pupils and staff of George Watson’s College, Edinburgh.

Thanks to you, we were able to provide underwear recently to The Clothes Loop, a charity providing emergency clothes parcels for families in Chirnside, Berwickshire.

The organisation’s Mel Gilmore told us, “The Clothes Loop provides preloved emergency clothes parcels for families in need who are struggling to clothe their children. We have to buy new pants for the parcels and our funding can be stretched. It means so much to the families to have these small but very important things provided for their children as they are facing serious challenges in their life.”

Thanks to you, we were able to provide underwear recently to Ubuntu Women Shelter in Glasgow.

The organisation’s Alia Junaid told us, “Ubuntu Women Shelter is a Glasgow-based charity providing unconditional practical assistance to women and individuals of marginalised genders with insecure immigration status and no recourse to public funds. We have many women who always need these things and we very much appreciate your kind donation of underwear.”

Thanks to you, we were able to provide underwear recently to Baraka Community Partnerships, a charity providing education projects in Zambia and Laos.
The organisation’s Sarah Ockendon told us, “We are working to improve education, water, sanitation and healthcare in impoverished communities in Zambia. By developing educational facilities, promoting healthcare and instigating water and sanitation projects, we try to galvanise communities to develop their own sustainable, self-sufficient futures through the power of education. Roughly 80% of our funds goes towards schools, teachers, our sponsorship programme, our Zambian Learning Centres and Girls' Safe Houses. The remaining 20% is distributed between sanitation, water and healthcare programmes.
Widespread poverty and the cost burden on families of replacing clothing as children grow means there is a great need from children in Zambia for new underwear. Provision of clean underwear provides dignity for the children. For young girls who are menstruating, underwear is vital for the use of sanitary products. With this basic need met, children can attend our schools and learning centres and take part in lessons and sports activities in comfort and with confidence.”
When the pants arrived in Zambia, she also sent us some thank-yous from the girls:
Prisca – Grade 11, Safe House girl: "I am happy that I can change my pants because I have an extra pair. I will always wash my pants so that I can feel confident."
Alexis – Form One, Baraka Secondary School: "I love the pants and the colours are nice. They are not very difficult to wash. Thank you for thinking of us."
Patience – Form One, Baraka Secondary School: "Thank you for your kindness. The pants will help me stay in school because I have extra pants to change into, especially during my menstrual period. I know I can change my pants and continue learning."

Look what’s arrived at our warehouse! Huge thanks to Kibra who have donated these new ladies’ pants (shown with volunteers Fiona, Clare and Joyce). We love receiving new pants and a bumper load like this – 1,500 pairs – will allow us to help many more ladies in need. Thank you, too, to every single person who continues to donate to help us give people the dignity of underwear.

Thanks to you, we were able to provide underwear recently to Too Little Children, supporting a project sewing reusable sanitary pads for girls and women in Kenya.

The organisation’s Caroline Kouns said, “Thank you so much for your very kind donation of underwear for our reusable sanitary pad project. I’ve attached a photo of some of the girls at the children’s home we support in Maseno, Kenya. Here, underwear is a luxury item. Families are often forced to choose between putting food on the table or buying underwear and menstrual supplies. While our reusable sanitary pads are essential for helping girls attend school consistently, the kits are completely unusable without underwear to hold them. In Kenya, secondary schools are often boarding schools, and our girls' un**es frequently disappear in the laundry each term. Students without their own often take them out of necessity, and means we must continually replace them. We don't mind though, knowing it helps families who can't afford them! Thank you for all you do for those in need of essential underwear. We’d be lost without you!”
