Caring for a loved one with dementia can be emotional, challenging and deeply personal.

No two journeys are the same, but shared experiences can make a real difference.
Whatโ€™s the best piece of advice you would give to someone caring for a loved one with dementia?

It could be something practical, something emotional, or simply a reminder to look after themselves too.

Letโ€™s use this space to support one another. ๐Ÿ’™

Dignity and Delight, D.A.D., stands for more than just a name. It represents the values Chris lives and leads by every single day. ๐Ÿ’™

See the photo on the wall? Thatโ€™s Chrisโ€™s dad. The inspiration behind Dignity and Delight. His memory is at the heart of everything we do, creating a safe, welcoming space where people are treated with dignity, compassion and respect.

Because everyone deserves to feel valued, supported and never alone.

Today we would like to say a heartfelt thank you to Jackie Owen as she steps away from her role as Director at Dignity and Delight.

As one of our founders, Jackie played a key role in getting our Community Interest Company off the ground, with so much of the planning and groundwork happening behind the scenes. Her experience, insight and dedication to community development have helped shape the foundations of who we are today.

We are truly grateful for the time, care and expertise she has given to Dignity and Delight, and we wish her every success for the future.

Thank you, Jackie. ๐Ÿ’™

Caring for a friend or family member with dementia can be overwhelming. Many carers tell us they feel exhausted, isolated, and left to cope on their own. ๐Ÿ’™

At Dignity and Delight, we believe carers deserve support too. Sometimes, even small gestures can make a big difference.

Here are six simple ways you can support someone caring for a person with dementia:

๐Ÿ’™ Check in regularly โ€“ a quick call or message can mean more than you realise
๐Ÿ’™ Offer practical help โ€“ shopping, cooking, or sitting with their loved one
๐Ÿ’™ Listen without judgement โ€“ sometimes they just need to be heard
๐Ÿ’™ Encourage breaks โ€“ carers need time to rest and recharge
๐Ÿ’™ Learn about dementia โ€“ understanding the condition helps everyone
๐Ÿ’™ Remind them theyโ€™re not alone โ€“ support and community really matter

๐Ÿ’ฌ What are your tips for supporting carers?
Share your thoughts below, your advice could really help someone today.
