Following the success of our Museum Objects Events at Midland Met Hospital, our discussion event is on the move into the community.

Starting today, we have 3 opportunities to see these fascinating objects, tell us what you think, explore their history, and hear stories around the idea of health and wellbeing.

Visiting 3 Sandwell Libraries over the next month our box of tricks will be accompanied by who will be helping us to connect with this history through her stories of legend, myth, and whimsy, used in the past to explain the unexplainable, share public health messages, and bring communities together. Just as they continue to do today.

Come and explore your local medical collection, and shape the exhibition that will be installed at Midland Met Hospital this November.

Music has the power to transform a day, and that's exactly what happened at Midland Met today.
A huge thank you to the wonderful soprano Samantha Oxborough, whose songs of love, joy and reflection had patients singing along, tapping with delight and moved to tears. Her performance lifted the mood across the hospital for patients, staff and visitors alike.
As one patient perfectly put it:
"I've never heard anything so beautiful in all my life." ❤️

What an incredible achievement!

A huge congratulations and heartfelt thank you to everyone who took part in our Sunrise Snowdon Trek in support of Your City & Metropolitan Hospitals Charity.

Together, you conquered an early morning mountain climb and raised an amazing £2,773 to support patients, their families, and NHS staff across our hospitals.

A special thank you to ACT Solutions for generously sponsoring the Snowdon Sunrise Challenge and helping to make this incredible event possible.

Every pound raised will help us go above and beyond what the NHS can fund — creating brighter environments, improving patient experiences, and supporting innovative projects that make a lasting difference.

As part of the South Asian Heritage celebrations at , staff and visitors contributed to a day of cultural exchange, sharing stitching techniques.

Collaborating over this piece pictured, we stitched the contours of our diverse community. Each stitch and line adding depth and vibrancy.

Some were nervous of starting. The surgeons brought their confident suturing. But without fail, every stitcher stayed and stitched longer than they planned to: caught up in a moment of creativity.

We heard about ralli quilts from Sindh, scarfs from Kutch, Gujurat.

We learned that until mid 1900s, women in China were called upon for suturing; their skilled hands being superior to those of the surgeons.

We discovered Dr Hamilton Bailey's connection with ....and where his notes might be....

A day of discovery, shared connections, and creative therapy.
