Lady Bay WI

Following the Supreme Court ruling on the definition of a woman, being the s*x they were born with and the subsequent ruling from the National Federation of WI’s, that transgender women were no longer allowed to join the WI, Lady Bay WI members have voted to suspend their membership of the WI and form an independent group in Lady Bay, which welcomes transgender women.
We are pleased to announce that a new group named The Lady Bay Poppies will continue in the same vein as the WI. Our first meeting will be on Monday 20th April at The Poppy and Pint 7.30pm. Watch out for our new Face Book page.

Our next members meeting will be 16th March and will be our Annual Meeting where we share a review of the year’s events and an update on our finances. This will be followed by our annual Bake-Off where the theme for this year’s bake is ‘ Free-From’. It can be free of sugar, eggs, gluten …. Whatever you like.
We have deferred the planned CPR training for this evening. There may be a fun quiz to fill in any extra time.

Hi Monday February 16th is our next meeting for members and is craft.
We will be making cards and gift tags using card, fabric and fabric pens. You can make any card you like birthday, mother’s day, Christmas. Please bring an apron as the fabric paint used can be a bit messy. We have some special scissors for cutting card but if you have any fabric scissors or pinking shears you would like to use, then bring them along.

Despite the rain, a really enjoyable day trip to Lincoln was had by some of the Lady Bay WI members over the weekend. Big thanks to Kate P for organising.

Great Christmas wreath making evening for our members at Lady Bay WI last night. Thanks to Katie B and Jane T for organising and to those who brought in extra foliage and extra decorations to support the evening.
