Whau Badge A locally-based youth employment initiative that brings together youth, employers and community groups. Supported by Whau Local Board & Youth Connections

Whau Badge was developed in West Auckland by people from West Auckland. It aims to provide a local strategy to support youth employment. Through working with local employers and community groups, Whau badge provides opportunities for youth to gain work-readiness skills and connect with employers. The aim of the programme is to help youth develop confidence and the skills to move into meaningful em

ployment or training

The Awards offers businesses a Bronze, Silver or Gold accreditation based on their level of commitment to supporting youth employment.
