Trigger warning, sad story below.

We took in two little boy GPs from a pet shop last week. The poor little things weren't sparking people's interest as they are black, not easy to photograph and carry a stigma of bad luck. We named them Raddish and Daffodil, Raddish was a bit underweight so we started "fattening" him up so his bones weren't sticking out and have a bit more energy to play with his brother. Daffodil, like a good big brother looked after him day in and day out every day of the past week. This morning as we finished making the GPs breakfast we gave them a cuddle and left for our appointments. We arrived back 2 hours later expecting to see our happy boys playing, but unfortunately Raddish was paralysed and struggling to breath, so we rushed downstairs and took him to the Vet, but it was too late, one day short of his first Vet check up, Raddish had to be put down. There was a tumor in his body that was not possible to operate due to his body being so fragile.

We are gutted, as is his big brother Daffodil. We gave him a proper send off, let the guinea pigs say their goodbyes, and gave him a nice solemn burial.

Rest in peace little Raddish 🙏
