🍽️ Laughter, Lunch, and Lovely Weather with Handside WI! ☀️🥂

Yesterday, our wonderful Luncheon Club gathered for a fantastic lunch at the Rose & Crown pub in Tewin! It was an afternoon filled with delicious two-course meals, endless laughter, and the very best fellowship.

The weather was absolutely fantastic, and while a lovely breeze was blowing right where we were sat, the drinks and the conversation were definitely flowing! 🍹💨

We had two very big misses at the table yesterday, though. A massive thank you goes out to our brilliant Linda, who organises our Luncheon Club. She made sure all of our pre-orders were perfectly sorted before she swanned off on a family holiday! We certainly missed her, but we hope she is having a wonderful time. 🌴✈️

We also deeply missed our wonderful President, Eileen, who is usually the absolute life and soul of our gatherings but has unfortunately been unwell. Sending you so much love and a very speedy recovery, Eileen! 💕🌟

A Fantastic Evening of Music and Memories at Handside WI! 🎶✨

On Wednesday 20th May, we had a wonderful turnout for our monthly meeting, with 17 ladies in attendance and 1 man. We were absolutely delighted to welcome three lovely visitors, as well as two special guests who joined us from our neighbouring WI, Hatfield Herts Bloom Hatfield W.I. It was fantastic to share the evening with you all! The WI (National Federation of Women's Institutes) Hertfordshire Federation of Women's Institutes some of our visitors came as a direct result of Living Crafts at Hatfield House last week so thank you for sign posting them to us

Our guest speaker for the night was the brilliant Tony Tutton. As a musician and band member himself, Tony’s deep love for music shone through from start to finish. He began giving public talks about three years ago, and we are proud to say this was his third time visiting us at Handside WI!

This particular talk was inspired by his wife, Jackie, who is the ultimate Bob Dylan fan and the driving force behind the topic. Tony’s presentation was simply amazing. He took us on a fascinating journey through Dylan’s early life, his incredible career, and his vast musical influences.

The biggest surprise of the night? Realising just how many iconic songs we love today were actually written by Bob Dylan more than half a century ago! We had absolutely no idea that modern hits like Adele’s 'Make You Feel My Love' or even Jay-Z’s 'Forever Young' are actually covers of his timeless songwriting. 🎤🎸

A huge, heartfelt thank you to Tony for coming back to see us and for giving us such an entertaining and educational evening.

In our busy lives, it’s easy to let our personal goals or hobbies slip to the bottom of the to-do list. Whether it’s committing to a daily walk, finally finishing that craft project, or simply making time for yourself, staying consistent and disciplined is the key to feeling empowered and fulfilled. 🍃
