1st Clives Own Welshpool Scout Headquarters & Community Centre It’s owned by the Scout Group who have strived for many years to obtain funding for such a centre and was first talked about in 2008.

An ideal venue for meetings, exercise classes, indoor sports, conferences, training events, wedding receptions, family celebrations, children’s parties, exhibitions, dances and more! Officially opened in January 2015, 1st Clive’s Own Welshpool Scout Headquarters and Community Centre (COWSHACC) is a modern, spacious and eco-friendly building with a large main hall, two smaller rooms ideal for forma

l or informal meetings plus a variety of other uses, a fully fitted catering kitchen, licensed bar, free WiFi and lots of parking, it's a cut above most other centre’s. With a small team of paid staff, the Centre, since it’s creation, is looking to be managed and staffed by local people, for local people. It is a Community Centre in the true sense of the word. People of all ages, abilities and from all walks of life can play an active role within the Centre. Any Volunteers involvement will promote personal development, self-esteem and self-confidence. It’s already home to a diverse range of clubs, groups and committees and is also available for private hire. – An ideal venue for wedding receptions, family celebrations, children’s parties, exhibitions, dances, indoor sports, conferences, training events and much more. The main hall can be configured in a number of ways to suit requirements and the type of event; theatre style seating a capacity of 140, cabaret style with a capacity up to 120 seated at 12 x 6” round tables, and a maximum of 220 standing for concerts.

Dear COWSHACC customers

Although we have tried our best to keep the expenses low, our operating costs have increased significantly due to factors outside our control. After carefully reviewing the finances, our committee feels obliged to increase fees, but hope you consider it modest, increasing our hourly room hire rates by approximately 5%.

Whilst we have increased these rates, it's important to highlight we have kept all extra surcharges at the same cost and nominal use of the kitchen will still remain free of charge.

The price increase will be effective from 1st November 2025 for any new bookings and from 1st February 2026 for existing customers. We would advise that we will be reviewing our rates on a half yearly basis going forward.

We will continue to evolve and improve our services, introduce new features and products to serve you better.

We thank you for your understanding and continuing support.
