Good News about our Enterprise Mentoring Project II

Hat-Trick for Wolverhampton Black Business Network (WBBN) receives National Lottery
Community Funding
We are thrilled to announce that the Wolverhampton Black Business Network (WBBN) has successfully
secured £20,000 funding to relaunch their mentoring programme. The funding will support both new and
existing businesses in the Wolverhampton area covering a two-year period. WBBN will be launching ‘The
Community Enterprise Mentoring Project II’ on the 24th of May 2024 at Heritage Centre, Clifford
Street, Whitmore Rean, Wolverhampton WV6 0AA from 5.30pm.
WBBN would like to acknowledge all our partners and supporters in Wolverhampton and beyond for their
continuous support and encouragement in our vision to upscale businesses in our city.
‘The Community Enterprise Mentoring Project II’ will deliver a tailored mentoring programme to meet the
needs and challenges of each participant on their journey to become successful in their businesses.
WBBN mission is to foster growth, innovation, and sustainability of local businesses.
The Community Enterprise Mentoring Project will offer mentorship in areas of entrepreneurship such as;
business strategy, business finance, marketing, procurement (understanding and responding to tender
documentation) and whatever business challenges abound.
In 2019 WBBN successfully delivered the first Enterprise mentoring and 2021, partnered with HSBC to
deliver their pilot of the HSBC Enterprise Mentoring Programme which it aims to roll-out Nationwide.

National Windrush Day celebrates the 75th anniversary of HMT Empire Windrush bringing passengers from the Caribbean to Britain in 1948, and marks the contribution and achievements of the Windrush generation and their descendants.

This morning, the Mayor of Wolverhampton, Cllr Dr Mike Hardacre, was joined by guests including speakers Alicia Spence, Director of the African Caribbean Community Initiative (ACCI), and Bishop Paul Thomas, Windrush Ambassador, to honour, celebrate and recognise the Windrush legacy at a flag-raising ceremony in St. Peter’s Square.
