We can’t quite believe it’s been over a month already since Jo Godsmark joined Goods For Good as CEO.

Over the last few weeks, Jo has been spending time getting to know our team, meeting partners and seeing first-hand the incredible community of people that makes our work possible.

We caught up with her to hear how her first few weeks have been, and to find out what's stood out so far.

If you’d like to hear more updates, reflections and stories from Jo and the wider team, you can sign up to our newsletter:

We’ve moved! 📦✨

After almost six years in Cecil Street, Goods For Good has a new home at Croxley Park.

We moved into Cecil Street back in 2020, right in the middle of Covid. In fact, former Watford MP Dean Russell officially opened the facility for us, complete with face mask and socially distanced ribbon cutting.

It’s been a brilliant base for our team, volunteers and partners over the years, but if we’re honest… we’d pretty much outgrown it as soon as we unpacked the first boxes.

Now, almost six years on, it feels like the start of another exciting chapter for Goods For Good. New premises, new opportunities and a new CEO, Jo Godsmark, leading the organisation into its next phase.

You’ll now find us at:

Our phone number and email address remain exactly the same.

A huge thank you to everyone who has helped us get here, from volunteers and supporters to corporate partners, charity partners and our wider community. We can’t wait to welcome you to our new home soon.

AI is dominating so many conversations right now, particularly around jobs, young people and the future of work.

This week, our CEO Jo Godsmark and Founder & Lifetime President Rosalind Bluestone MBE attended the E2E Summit at the UK House of Lords, where Rosalind joined a panel discussing exactly that alongside entrepreneurs, business leaders and changemakers from across the country.

One of the strongest themes throughout the discussions was that while technology will continue to evolve, people still need connection, opportunity and community.

It felt particularly relevant to the work we do at Goods For Good, where bringing people together through practical action and volunteering remains such a huge part of our impact.

It’s so important to have these conversations and experiences represented at the House of Lords.

It’s difficult to fully describe the emotional impact of visits like this.

Last week, a team from Goods For Good travelled to Moldova to spend time with our long-standing charity partners Hope4 and JDC meeting families and communities supported through our work.

Four years on from the escalation of the conflict in Ukraine, we met mothers and pensioners who fled with almost nothing and are still trying to build stability and routine in incredibly difficult circumstances.

We visited remote communities, spent time with deaf adults who often feel excluded from wider society, and returned to see young people and families we’ve supported previously.

One moment that stayed with all of us was arriving in the new Goods For Good and Hope4 van, generously provided through the support of Uniqlo and being recognised by children we had met before.

They remembered us.

Not because of who we are, but because practical support, consistency and human connection matter.

These visits are always moving. At times overwhelming. But they are also important because they allow us to see firsthand the realities people are living with, strengthen the partnerships that make this work possible, and better understand how support can continue to reach communities who are too often overlooked or forgotten.

240 essential kits packed and ready to head out into our local communities.

The brilliant team who joined us from Datasite, rolled up their sleeves and helped us pack toiletries and hygiene products for people facing hardship. From soap and toothpaste to period products and other daily essentials, these are the kinds of items many of us don’t think twice about, but for someone struggling, they can make a huge difference.

Not having access to basic essentials can affect confidence, wellbeing and dignity in ways that often go unseen. That’s why our Essentials For Good programme exists, to remove barriers and help make sure people have access to the everyday items they need to feel comfortable, confident and included.

We’re a small team, so having volunteers come in and support us genuinely helps us reach more people than we could on our own. We’re really grateful to the Datasite team for giving their time, energy and enthusiasm to help make it happen.

We’re really pleased to share some important news.

Jo Godsmark has been appointed as our new Chief Executive Officer.

This is a big moment for us. As our work continues to grow, getting essential items to people quickly and reliably, often in very challenging situations, has never been more important. Jo brings a wealth of experience in logistics and supply chain, which sits right at the heart of what we do.

Jo understands our work, our partnerships and the communities we support, and we’re excited about what comes next with her leading the organisation.

We also want to take a moment to recognise our founder, Rosalind Bluestone MBE. Over more than a decade, Rosalind has built Goods For Good into what it is today, growing it from an idea into a charity that supports people both here in the UK and around the world.

Rosalind will now take on the role of Lifetime President, continuing to support the organisation and its future. This means we don’t lose her knowledge, passion or guidance.

This transition matters, and it’s one we feel really confident about. We’re proud of everything that’s been built so far, and excited for what’s ahead.

Please join us in welcoming Jo into her new role.

This is what opportunity looks like! Access to essential items really does break down barriers. We’re over the moon to see donations from our Sport For Good programme making such a difference for the children supported by Hope4 Moldova

A winter coat shouldn’t end up in landfill, especially when someone else is facing freezing temperatures without one.

And yet, every year, huge amounts of perfectly usable clothing go to waste.

This is why our work matters.

9,000 items of winter clothing, tents, sleeping bags and shoes are now on their way to Ukraine. Redirected from surplus stock and delivered, via our partners Driving Aid To Ukraine to people facing another harsh winter, while living with the daily reality of conflict and uncertainty.

Practical support. Less waste. Real impact, where it’s needed most.

05/02/2026

Some of the most telling moments of our work this winter haven’t happened in warehouses or boardrooms. They’ve happened when plans fall apart, conditions are extreme, and people simply find another way to keep going.

In –15°C conditions, with power available for just one hour a day, ongoing missile attacks, and a 44-ton truck stuck fast on ice, the aid still didn’t stop.

With no forklift available, the truck was unloaded by hand.
Fifteen people worked for over four hours in the cold, digging it out and getting vital supplies moving.

This is the reality of our work. Not smooth or predictable, but shaped by constant obstacles, and by people who care enough to work around them. Because the focus is always on the people waiting for support, and on making sure the aid reaches them, whatever it takes.

Our winter response supports people both here in the UK and overseas. Ukraine has been part of that work for over a decade, and as conditions have become more challenging, the need for flexibility, trust and determination on the ground has only grown.

We’re proud to work alongside partners like Driving Aid To Ukraine, helping ensure essential aid continues to reach people, whatever it takes.
