Please be aware that the Café in the Library will be closed from 31st August (today) - 14th September, due to essential maintenance works taking place in the library.

While the café is closed, the people we support who usually work in the café will still be keeping busy! Some will be heading out to visit other local cafés, with a treasure hunt planned along the way, while those who usually work in the kitchen will continue with their kitchen activities.

We’ll share further updates and plans once we have more information.
Thank you for your understanding.

Along with other Herts charities, we’ll be setting off on a 13 mile walk through Chipperfield, Bovingdon and Hemel Hempstead on 26th September.

You can sign up to take part here - https://helpingherts.enthuse.com/pf/jolene-stephens-504cc

This will be a sponsored event, and all money raised will be matched by Helping Herts.

Helping Herts is a consortium of local causes who aim to improve the lives of children and young people in Hertfordshire by uniting local charities, businesses, and communities. They generously match whatever we raise at a number of our events, which doubles the impact we give to the services offered by Watford Mencap.

Round up your friends, pull on your walking boots and sign up to take part.

Helen recently enjoyed a trip to the cinema for the first time in ages, and what a wonderful day it was!

Thanks to our Day Opportunities team, who arranged a private screening of Toy Story 5, Helen was able to relax and enjoy the film in a comfortable and supportive environment.

With the help of our amazing support workers, she got to the cinema and had a fantastic time.
