North Warwickshire Borough Council have recently announced their Local Plan Review. Within that plan it would appear that they have been offered for development (the building of 63 homes) the plot of land behind The Vicarage, Vicarage Lane and its neighbours. The offer includes the land on which The Vicarage sits to be used to provide an access road to the new site. Presumably The Vicarage would be demolished. We believe that the land is all owned by the Church Commissioners (the financial arm of the Church of England). We can assure everybody that Water Orton Church knew nothing about the proposal until the local plan appeared.
This development along with the current one proposed at the back of the old school site would cause a major problem with an increase in local traffic along, not only Vicarage Lane, but throughout the village. The local school, doctors surgery and dentists would not be able to cope with another maybe 200 plus people who would move into the said developments.
We can send objections before this goes to planning. The deadline is Wednesday August 19th!
