10 years of ‘Wind over Westmill’ – a big free birthday party at your local wind farm (and giant kites)! There's even a free bus.
On Saturday 16th June Westmill (Oxfordshire’s only wind farm) celebrates 10 years of power production. It’s a family fun day with food, live music, as well an opportunity to get inside one of the five 81m high wind turbines. ‘Wind Over Westmill’ event runs from 12-5pm.
Westmill is community owned and is between Faringdon and Swindon. A free bus will run from Oxford and back, courtesy of Oxford Bus Companies. There will also be a guided cycle ride on a countryside route.

A giant kite display by the White Horse Kite Fliers which will be flying against a backdrop of the five big turbines.
Live music from two up and coming local bands – Scarecrow and Paige & the Red Shift
Children’s activities including a treasure hunt across the site, a solar fountain to splash through and a bouncy castle, DIY pizzas and a bar serving local beers.
