Long post incoming but necessary!
Three days on from Minehead's Five a Side Tournament and Community Day, we've had time to reflect on everything that was achieved and tie up some of the final loose ends. We still come to the same conclusion: it was an outstandingly successful day.
Before anything else, we want to say a huge thank you to every player, team, volunteer, supporter and spectator who attended and got involved. Without your support, there simply would not have been an event. The atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic and it was wonderful to see so many people coming together and supporting the cause.
First and foremost, a huge thank you to Jack Furse and Gemma Chilcott for their hard work in bringing together 16 teams and ensuring the smooth running and format of the football tournament throughout the day. Without their dedication and organisation, the tournament would not have been possible.
A huge thank you also goes to Minehead Football Club for allowing us to host the event and supporting us throughout the day.
Congratulations to our first ever winners Gangsters Allardyce who took ownership of the trophy donated by Neil Arnold Tyres & Autos .
We also want to give a very special thank you to Charlee Todd who started her day at 4am and dedicated countless hours to preparing and serving food from her street food menu. The amount of work that went into the catering played a huge part in making the day such a success. We are also extremely grateful to Broadlands Retirement Living Mineheadfor allowing us the use of their kitchen to help with food preparation beforehand, as well as helping with some last minute catering donations.
Jack Evans for the Live Music and remembering our songs we associate with Freddie and bringing out some true heart singing from us all .
A huge thank you to The Party Crew of the bouncy castle and the hugely popular mascots.
Alison Crook donating 2 nights at her airb&b !!! Blue Ball Inn an over night stay and meal for 2 raffle prize !!!
A special thank you to Tommy Cox and his parents, Gemma Hall and Coxy Coxy for helping organise the Top Binz football game and securing prizes. We would also like to thank Robbie Hill ( Claire Louise Hill) for working alongside Tommy throughout the day. Together they raised an amazing £80 for the fund.
We especially loved seeing young people getting involved, working together and supporting the fund we encourage younger ones into the fund Tommy and Robbie should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.

There are undoubtedly people I have missed and my list seems to keep growing. If I have missed you, please know it is not intentional. Every contribution, whether it was your time, a donation, practical support or simply turning up on the day, helped make this event what it was and is hugely appreciated.
As things currently stand, we have raised £2,395, with a couple more donations still to be added.
Thank you once again to everyone involved. We hope you'll agree that it was a fantastic day and a wonderful example of our community coming together.
