Long post incoming but necessary!

Three days on from Minehead's Five a Side Tournament and Community Day, we've had time to reflect on everything that was achieved and tie up some of the final loose ends. We still come to the same conclusion: it was an outstandingly successful day.

Before anything else, we want to say a huge thank you to every player, team, volunteer, supporter and spectator who attended and got involved. Without your support, there simply would not have been an event. The atmosphere throughout the day was fantastic and it was wonderful to see so many people coming together and supporting the cause.

First and foremost, a huge thank you to Jack Furse and Gemma Chilcott for their hard work in bringing together 16 teams and ensuring the smooth running and format of the football tournament throughout the day. Without their dedication and organisation, the tournament would not have been possible.

A huge thank you also goes to Minehead Football Club for allowing us to host the event and supporting us throughout the day.

Congratulations to our first ever winners Gangsters Allardyce who took ownership of the trophy donated by Neil Arnold Tyres & Autos .

We also want to give a very special thank you to Charlee Todd who started her day at 4am and dedicated countless hours to preparing and serving food from her street food menu. The amount of work that went into the catering played a huge part in making the day such a success. We are also extremely grateful to Broadlands Retirement Living Mineheadfor allowing us the use of their kitchen to help with food preparation beforehand, as well as helping with some last minute catering donations.

Jack Evans for the Live Music and remembering our songs we associate with Freddie and bringing out some true heart singing from us all .

A huge thank you to The Party Crew of the bouncy castle and the hugely popular mascots.

Alison Crook donating 2 nights at her airb&b !!! Blue Ball Inn an over night stay and meal for 2 raffle prize !!!

A special thank you to Tommy Cox and his parents, Gemma Hall and Coxy Coxy for helping organise the Top Binz football game and securing prizes. We would also like to thank Robbie Hill ( Claire Louise Hill) for working alongside Tommy throughout the day. Together they raised an amazing £80 for the fund.

We especially loved seeing young people getting involved, working together and supporting the fund we encourage younger ones into the fund Tommy and Robbie should be incredibly proud of what they achieved.

Jaxon (Catherine Sully) and his friends selling ice lollipops and help litter picking .

Richard Little Family Butchers meat donation.

Doniford Farm Park catering donation .

Active Signs printing of Children’s colouring .

Eagle Plant Minehead donation of generator .

LADA Dance Academy dance displays .

Glenmore Bakery donation of baps.

Nat Leader Spoons condiments donation .

Bambi's Cove catering supplies and graphic post .

Julie McCullough & Dellen Marshall-Bradley kitchen and merchandise help .

Kyle Christopher Lewis for transporting everything to and from the event ,

There are undoubtedly people I have missed and my list seems to keep growing. If I have missed you, please know it is not intentional. Every contribution, whether it was your time, a donation, practical support or simply turning up on the day, helped make this event what it was and is hugely appreciated.

As things currently stand, we have raised £2,395, with a couple more donations still to be added.

Thank you once again to everyone involved. We hope you'll agree that it was a fantastic day and a wonderful example of our community coming together.

As we reflect this morning on what was an extremely positive and outstanding day, we want to say a huge thank you from the bottom of our hearts to everyone who turned out and made it possible.

Seeing people come together, play sport, and support their community was something very special.

We are going to keep this message
short because we need a little time to decompress, but it is important that we put on record our sincere thanks to Minehead Football Club for their incredible support of the event,

To Jack Furse and Gemma Chilcott for bringing together the 16 teams and delivering such a well planned format for the day,

To Charlee Todd for her fantastic work in providing what may well have been the best street food ever.

The The Party Crew for keeping the young ones very happy !

Jack Evans for the LIVE music

There are many more people !!!!! we need to thank, and we will come back to that in the coming days.

Thank you as well to all the businesses that supported us and helped make the day such a success.

For now, please allow us a little time to reflect on what was an absolutely fantastic day in Minehead. We are feeling overwhelmed with gratitude and, if we are honest, quite emotional.
We cannot thank you enough.

We will be back in a few days with the total funds raised and a proper thank you ❤️

So, what else is just as important as honouring Freddie , football, beer, fundraising and community ,

Food……

We’re really pleased to have Charlee Todd supporting the day with this street food menu.

We’ve also had some brilliant support from local businesses around the town who have donated to help make it all possible.

There’s plenty on offer, from burgers and loaded fries to brisket baps, shawarma and salad boxes.

Have a look at the menu and please come along and support the day.

Thankyou Laura Bambi's Cove for the graphic and ongoing support !

As we head into the week of our biggest event yet, with 16 teams coming together for our five a side tournament and community day, I want us all to remember our why.

On the 7th of June, it will mark seven years since we lost our Son , our Brother our Friend ,Freddie.

After his funeral, we heard countless stories about the impact Freddie had on people’s lives, supporting others through difficult times, helping people when they needed it most, teaching kids rugby, and always giving his time and energy to those around him. We also know he could be a bit of a menace too, with the cheeky character everyone loved.

Those stories are what led to the creation of the Freddie Pring Memorial Fund, not only to honour Freddie’s memory, but to continue the support and generosity that defined who he was.

We know Freddie would be absolutely chuffed to see 16 teams coming together like this. At its heart, this day is about football bringing people together, building community, supporting others, and creating something positive.

So let’s make this our best event yet. Let’s do Freddie proud and make it a day to remember.

Thank you to everyone playing, supporting, donating and helping make this day so special.

Help is always welcomed on the day and remember our minutes clap to honour Freddie will be around 2.30.

We cannot wait to see you all there.
