That’s a wrap! ☀️

Term one of our music and art groups with The Special Lioness is officially complete, and we are now breaking for the summer! Our amazing siblings and carers have been expressing themselves through beautiful art, while we’ve been working hard to make playing instruments accessible to everyone in our music group. Look at all the wonderful work we’ve created so far!

A massive thank you to Youth Music and The National Lottery Community Fund for the funding that makes these magical sessions possible. 🙌 We can’t wait to get going again in September and build on everything we've started. Have a fantastic summer!

We’re so excited to share that we’ve received funding from The National Lottery Community Fund for a new art project running alongside our Youth Music-funded music group for young people living with disabilities with The Special Lioness.

These creative sessions will offer siblings and family members space to explore identity, self-expression and creativity outside of caring roles.

We’re incredibly grateful to The National Lottery Community Fund and to National Lottery players for making this possible 💛

We’re delighted to share that Kindling Therapies CIC has received a grant from Youth Music to continue the pilot music group we started last year in partnership with The Special Lioness.

This project is all about creating accessible, inclusive opportunities for young people with disabilities to take part in group music-making—exploring creativity, connection, and self-expression in a supportive environment.

Our pilot last year showed us just how meaningful this work can be, and we’re so pleased to be able to develop it further. Sessions will begin again in May, and we’re really looking forward to seeing what the young people create together.

A big thank you to Youth Music for supporting this work, and to Special Lioness for their ongoing collaboration.

We’re currently exploring whether there is local interest in private music therapy sessions in North Tyneside, and the kinds of support people may be looking for, before arranging space and availability.

This may be relevant for children, young people, or adults who might benefit from music therapy, including those with additional needs, neurodivergence, emotional or mental health difficulties, or who are exploring therapeutic support through music.
