Some of our very own Leaders are in Windsor this weekend celebrating earning their King's Scout Award - the highest award in Scouting.

Ethan and Jess have both been through our group from being in Cubs and Scouts and are fantastic role models for the young people in our group!

Over the years they have given a lot to the group, HLS District, Durham County and indeed further afield in West Yorkshire (where Jess currently lives).

A quick side note - Jess will be following in her dad's (Mark) footsteps who is a Queen Scout himself and will be there too!

We can't wait to see all the official photography of tomorrow's parade!

Between now and St Georges Day we will be sharing with you what this year’s Kings Scout Award Recipients have been doing to complete their awards.

Today we say Congratulations to Ethan Cowey of Houghton le Spring District.

Whilst completing his Award Ethan completed his Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.

Whilst completing his award Ethan

1. Attended the World Scout Moot in Lisburn in 2025 as part of the UK Contingent.
2. Organised various international Evenings at 1st Fatfield Scout Group to celebrate such things as Burns Night and Lunar New Year.
3. Worked as part of the Service Team at Moorhouse.
4. Helped organise and run The Big Help Out Day in 2023 as part of the Coronation.
5. Ethan started and still works as part of the District Recruiting Team with Houghton le Spring District.

Ethan is attending the Windsor Parade later this month.
