Yesterday at Beavers we went to the beach to try rockpooling.

We found lots of seaweed, snails, limpets and even an empty crab shell.

Next, we went hunting for sea glass and cool stones. We talked about how they formed and the different things we could find.

This week at Squirrels we learnt about the importance of working as a team.

We had to use good teamwork skills to master several team tasks including using hoops to get across the hall, a slalom race, moving a ball on a sheet, passing a ring under and over in a circle, building towers, and then using a parachute to move a ball.

This week at Beavers we went to Moor House to have a go at building shelters!

Last weekend, 8 of our Cubs divided into two teams competed against at least 50 other teams of 4-6 Cubs at our County's Pete Swinney Competition, a big orienteering competition where Cubs complete challenges as a team to earn points.

All our Cubs did really well, and to the surprise of us all this year one of our teams won the competition for the first time in 23 years, which is coincidentally also the 110th anniversary of our Scout group 😲 🏆

Well done to all our Cubs who took part; you should all be super proud 👏

Last week at Beavers, our young leader Kian arranged for us to visit the animal unit at his college.

🦫🦆🐺

We learnt lots about different animals and how to care for them, got to try grooming rabbits and even held different things like the rabbits, a bearded dragon, guinea pigs, a quail, a cockroach and a degu!

We found some ducks, caterpillars, ladybirds, ants and worms.
