Our speaker this month is author Philip Caine whose talk is entitled 'From Barrow to Baghdad'. Philip's work has taken him to many countries around the world, the last 10 years of which were spent in the Middle East. Since retiring in 2015 he has become a novelist and guest speaker and will tell us how a career that began in Barrow-in-Furness ended in Baghdad.

This is a reminder that our next monthly meeting will be on Thursday coming, August 7th, at The Stella, Albany Village, Washington, NE37 1BH.

The meeting has a 10.30 a.m. start time so please do not arrive before 10.15 a.m. to give the committee time to set up for the meeting.

This month our guest speaker will be Martin Peagam who will be giving a talk on hearing dogs for the deaf and how they support and help people. Martin will be bringing his hearing dog Inca with him.
