Our shipmate Ashley receive this order of service, from more than 30 years ago, yesterday to mark the laying up of the ensign of HMS Warwick. The service was held on the 50th anniversary of the ship’s sinking and the ensign is now on display inside the Collegiate Church of St Mary, Warwick. It’s significant as it was the White Ensign which was flown by Vice Admiral Keyes while on board HMS Warwick on 23rd April 1918. Keyes was the commander and Warwick the flagship of the combined Royal Navy and Royal Marine raid on the port of Zeebrugge. As you can see, Warwick branch played an active part in this ceremony and is a proud part of our branch heritage
