Today, we'd love to hear from you.
Has someone ever checked in on you at just the right moment?

Maybe it was a text; a phone call; a coffee.
A conversation you'll never forget.
๐Ÿ’œ Tell us about it below.

Because sometimes the smallest acts of kindness leave the biggest impact.
And your story might encourage someone else to reach out today.

๐Ÿ’œ Prevention saves lives.
As we support Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service (GMFRS) during , we're reminded that safety often starts with awareness, preparation, and looking out for one another.
Whether you're spending time by the coast, a river, canal, lake, or swimming pool this summer, take a moment to learn the risks, share water safety advice, and check in on those around you.

Just as we encourage conversations around mental health, we also believe in creating safer communities through education, awareness, and collective care.
Please take a moment to watch and share this important message. You never know who it might help. ๐Ÿ’œ

Connection doesn't always start with a big conversation.
Sometimes it starts with a text. ๐Ÿ’œ
A cup of tea.
Sitting beside someone.
A walk around the block.
A simple "How are you, really?"

During , we're reminding ourselves that small acts of connection can make a big difference.

You don't need the perfect words. You just need to show up.
๐Ÿ’œ What's one small thing that helps you feel connected?

"Keeping children off social media is the best way to keep them safe online," Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer recently said.

The ongoing discussion around restricting social media access for under-16s has sparked strong opinions across the UK.

For some, especially bereaved parents, tighter restrictions are a welcome step towards protecting young people from online harms, cyberbullying, harmful content, and unrealistic pressures that can negatively impact mental health.

For others, concerns remain about what happens when access is removed without addressing the wider issue. Many young people use online communities to combat loneliness, find belonging, access peer support, and talk openly about their mental health. There are also questions about whether responsibility should sit primarily with young people and families, or with the platforms themselves.

At the same time, concerns continue to grow around young people moving towards less regulated online spaces, including some gaming and messaging platforms.

From a ***deprevention perspective, the challenge is rarely simple.
How do we protect young people from harm while ensuring they still have access to connection, support and community?

๐Ÿ’ญ We'd like to hear your thoughts.

: what do you think is the most effective way to keep young people safe online while supporting their mental wellbeing?

Please keep the conversation respectful.

For , here's a question we don't ask often enough:
๐Ÿ’ญ Who would notice if you went quiet?

Loneliness isn't always about being alone:
sometimes it's feeling disconnected in a crowded room;
sometimes it's not wanting to burden anyone;
sometimes it's convincing yourself that nobody would understand

This , why not message someone you've not spoken to in a while? ๐Ÿ“ฑ You never know how much that connection might mean.

๐Ÿ’œ Tag someone you're grateful for.
๐Ÿ’œ Share this as a reminder to check in.
๐Ÿ’œ Save it for the days you need it too.

This , we want to start with a simple reminder:

๐Ÿ’œ You are not alone.

Loneliness can affect anyone, at any stage of life. It doesn't always look the way people expect, and sometimes it can feel difficult to talk about.

Whether you're feeling disconnected, overwhelmed, isolated, or simply not yourself, support is available.

Throughout this week, we'll be sharing conversations, reflections, and practical ways to build connection and support wellbeing.

In the meantime, if you need support or want to explore resources tailored to your needs, we're here to help.

๐Ÿ’œAs we mark both and , we're reminded of a simple truth: while everyone's experiences are different, the need to feel seen, heard, accepted, and supported is universal.

For many people, opening up about their mental health can feel difficult. Whether it's societal expectations, stigma, discrimination, loneliness, or the pressure to "just get on with it", too many people still feel they have to struggle in silence.

โœจ Here are 3 simple ways to support mental wellbeing today:
๐Ÿ’œ Check in on someone you care about: a simple message or conversation can make a real difference.
๐Ÿ’œ Open up about how you're feeling: you don't have to carry everything on your own.
๐Ÿ’œPractise self-compassion: give yourself the same kindness you'd offer a friend.

No matter who you are, how you identify, or what you're carrying right now, your feelings matter. True strength isn't facing everything alone; it's knowing when to reach out, speak up, and let others in. ๐Ÿ’œ

If you need someone to listen, our SOS Freephone Helpline is here for you:
