Last week we had the honour of unveiling a new piece of artwork created by Emily Kaye Illustration at Rugby Station, championing the White Ribbon UK charity. We're incredibly lucky to have had the support of Avanti West Coast for this project and have worked with young people from Rugby Borough Council 's On Track program to provide inspiration for the mural. Thank you also to John Slinger MP for coming to support us with such an important issue.

Climate Change Grant Fund is now open! 💚🪴

Royal Leamington Spa Town Council is inviting applications from local not-for-profit groups working on climate and sustainability projects.

£10,000 is available this year, with applications open on a rolling basis.

Over £30,000 has already supported a range of projects across the town.

Mayor, Cllr Ruggy Singh said “There has already been strong interest in the fund, with a number of inspiring local projects supported so far and we look forward to helping even more groups deliver green initiatives in Leamington Spa.”

A morning out seeing colours of different types today. Great to see our Commonwealth mural at Birmingham International getting a brand new coat of paint with Brink Contemporary Arts thanks to funding from Avanti West Coast

Then it was back to Coventry where the bulbs planted by our adopters Life Path Trust Limited really brighten up the platform!

We’re continuing our support for Neurodiversity Celebration Week. 🧡

Our accessibility team have introduced sensory packs to provide some assistance in managing sensory sensitivities and to create a more comfortable journey for our neurodivergent customers. The sensory packs can be particularly helpful for those who experience stress and anxiety whilst travelling.

Packs can be collected free of charge from any West Midlands Railway managed station, subject to availability.

Last week I had the joy of visiting Groundwork West Midlands at their The People's Patch Coventry site. It was inspirational to see the changes they've made in under a year to a piece of previously unloved bit of land. There's now bee mansions, a polytunnel filled with seeds planted by volunteers and schools, art created by Creative Kindness, the start of a sensory garden and so much more.

It's a great place to see how to reuse and recycle materials into items that can increase biodiversity in even the smallest of spaces. So much we can learn and apply to our green spaces at stations!

Murder mystery workshop on a train with the wonderful author & Stratford Literary Festival - sign us up! 😁 🙌

A fantastic day driving the imaginations of Stratford Primary students and revelling in some train nostalgia.

Some confused but very entertained passangers on journeys between Stratford upon Avon & Birmingham Moor Street, so a big thank you to West Midlands Railway & Chiltern Railways for your support too.

If you are a charity, community group or not-for-profit organisation within five miles of a Chiltern Railways station, we’d love to hear from you. This year, we are supporting projects that enhance station environments, promote sustainable travel, and deliver tangible benefits for local communities on our route.

💰 Grants available: £5,000-£20,000 (with match funding up to £40,000)

I've had the pleasure of connecting with lots of young students (879 to be precise!) during January 2026 - educating them on rail safety. It is lovely to then see some follow up media they have created - hopefully embedding those ideas on how best to stay safe on the railways

On Monday we joined with Avanti West Coast White Ribbon UK and Emily Kaye Illustration at Birmingham International Station to view Emily's latest artwork raising awareness of the White Ribbon campaign.

With thanks to funding from Avanti West Coast through their CRP fund, we were able to work with Emily who used images and messaging designed to encourage people to use their voices and speak up against behaviours that are sometimes glossed over, such as catcalling and sexist remarks. The mural also has a QR code that links directly to the White Ribbon website where mor information can be found about the campaign.
