This is the second night Hugo has slept in with his friends in about a year! He started coming in last winter to his own bachelor pad just overnight and would enjoy day time with his friends, he always headed back to his one personal shelter at night so he had special treats and secret suppers and his own space which he loved. He needed his own private space to heal from sore joints from winter and didn’t want to get pushed by any bullies.
He’s been healed a long time but continued to come back to his own shelter until the other night, I was so anxious about him spending the first night in there in case he got pushed by Rhubarb as he can really use his weight and push others around a bit, but after that initial anxious night and me checking throughout the night, the second night he spent sleeping under the oak tree on a bale of hay with some of his most closest best friends, Audrey who adores him, with her kids Ellie and Doc, also his girlfriend Gertie who also adores him, so he looked so happy this morning I could of wept with emotion.
He didn’t ask to come back even when I tried last night using biscuits, only Tristan can running and said “I’ll come mom”😂 so being the protective mom that I am, it’s been hard to let him leave into the hog wide world, but I’m also glad to see him happy with his friends again, I can’t help but miss seeing him at the window asking for biccies though.
