Members of the County Youth Wind Band had a great day on 13th June working with members of the AD Concert Band as part of the AD Band's 50th Anniversary Celebrations.

The combined bands under the Directorship of Trevor Farren (AD) Richard Hart (CB) and Martin Sleaford (CB) learnt and performed pieces including: Force of Destiny, Above & Beyond and Highlights from the movie Titanic.

What a brilliant opportunity! Thanks to all involved 🎺

Brilliant to see the young musicians at Oakley School sharing their talents this week! 🎼

On Tuesday 9 June, a group of Oakley School musicians visited Oakley Grange Care Home to perform for residents. They delivered a wonderful and varied programme, ranging from Vivaldi to Michael Jackson, which was warmly received. It was a pleasure to see our pupils representing the school so positively, chatting with residents and bringing music to the community.

The Warwickshire Music Hub continues to make music accessible, engaging, and enriching for young people across the county. Through high-quality tuition, ensembles, workshops, and performance opportunities, the Hub helps children and young people develop their musical skills, confidence, creativity, and passion for music.

A special recognition goes to the Suzuki violin team, whose talented young musicians and dedicated teachers showcase the beauty and discipline of violin playing through the renowned Suzuki Method. By developing strong listening skills, technique, confidence, and musical expression from an early age, the team inspires children to reach their full potential while fostering a lifelong love of music.

Whether learning an instrument for the first time, joining an orchestra, singing in a choir, or performing as part of the Suzuki violin programme, students are given opportunities to grow, perform, and connect with others through the power of music.

A huge thank you to the dedicated teachers, the Suzuki violin team, partner schools, families, and supporters who help make these opportunities possible. Together, we’re creating a vibrant musical community where every young person can discover their potential and enjoy the lifelong benefits of music.

This August, the NYO Orchestra are visiting Birmingham!
There will be an exciting opportunity for local young people to join musicians from The National Youth Orchestra in a Side by Side rehearsal on the concert day. This will run at Birmingham Symphony Hall on Wednesday 5 August at 12.00 - 13.15.
This is open to all musicians aged 12-19 playing an orchestral instrument at a Grade 4+ standard. The sign up is available directly from the flyer attached, or by visiting NYO's website: https://www.nyo.org.uk/events-and-performances
