Provisional figures for Warwickshire between 1 January and 31 July 2026 show that 19 people have been killed and 167 seriously injured on our roads.
These are not just statistics. They are real people with families, friends, colleagues and loved ones whose lives have been changed forever. They are people now living with loss, pain, fear and the challenges of a future they never expected.
Nineteen people left their homes and families to start a journey they never finished, never knowing that a simple "see you later" would be the last time their loved ones saw them.
Every collision has a ripple effect, impacting countless lives and leaving lasting consequences for entire communities.
Road crashes are not inevitable. Many are preventable. By slowing down, staying focused, avoiding distractions and making safe choices every time we travel, we can all play a part in preventing further tragedy.
Please take care on Warwickshire's roads. For yourself, for your loved ones, and for everyone around you.
