With World Environment Day just passed on Friday, 5th June and Volunteer’s Week drawing to a close, it was fitting that Team Tormentor was out in full force on the Hamble Coastal Pathway and the immediate foreshore surrounds for a Beach Clean today! It was lovely to welcome Councillor Mike Ford, Fareham Borough Council to join us and offer us his thanks on behalf of the Community.

What a lovely day with 60 pairs of helping hands 🙌🏻 (Cadets, CFAV, UMT, P&SA, parents and siblings) loading up a huge amount of debris into bin bags. The morning’s hard work culminated in a lunchtime BBQ provided by our wonderful P&SA 🙏🏻 which gave us all opportunity to enjoy some social time together too - All in all a brilliant effort from all involved!!! BZ 👏

We managed to have our June Divisions outdoors with a rare break in this past week’s weather, on Tuesday evening …

We welcomed Capt Mohayed Magzoub OBE RN, Head of Force Development, as our VIP to inspect the Divisions and to present the awards, certificates and badges at the end of the evening which included a Junior Cadet Commodore’s Pennant and rating up of a new Leading Cadet! Congratulations !!!

A most enjoyable evening which Capt Magzoub thoroughly enjoyed and who was very impressed by our cadets and the work we do! BZ All 👏

Captain Sea Cadets, Captain Hannah MacKenzie VR RN has a message for our dedicated volunteers:

"As we celebrate Volunteers’ Week 2026, it’s the perfect time for me to reflect on the incredible volunteer-led outcomes and achievements I’ve witnessed during my first six months as Captain Sea Cadets. Firstly, thank you to all the amazing command teams, instructors and trustees who have welcomed me into their units during my travels so far. Your passion and dedication has been truly inspirational – and I know that your hard work and positive impact is being replicated in units across the UK.

To every single one of our volunteers: I am absolutely humbled by the effort and commitment you show, week after week, rain or shine. The way you always put your cadets first; your pride in seeing them achieve their potential; and the support you show to your colleagues – that is the bedrock of the Sea Cadets family, and I am so honoured to be your Captain. Because of you, our young people are gaining the confidence, resilience and strong values they'll need to be the leaders (and volunteers) of the future! On behalf of everyone at MSSC, I offer my deepest thanks. BZ!"

It’s Volunteer’s Week and to reiterate a HUGE thank you to ALL our volunteers at Warsash SCC who all do so much more than just our Parade Nights which are the “visible” front of our volunteering but planning, supporting administrative tasks, attending events to network with potential supporters, fundraising, running repairs on boats and kit, ordering uniforms … the list is endless! All this goes on in the background alongside these volunteers work and family lives in order to give our cadets the best Sea Cadet Experience possible! Thank you 🙏🏻

For Volunteers’ Week 2026, we’d like to say thank you to all our incredible volunteers.

We are incredibly grateful for the time, commitment and passion you give to Sea Cadets every week.

Whether you’re instructing, supporting your unit behind the scenes, or helping cadets take part in new opportunities, you are making a real and lasting difference to young people’s lives.

As one parent shared recently, “it’s helped bring out the best in my children - we’re very grateful.”

On behalf of our cadets, thank you for your dedication, time and inspiration 💙

A productive and fun Half Term in GLORIOUS sunshine 🌞 and a rather hot heatwave 🥵 …

⭐ LC Connor kicked it off with a PB2 Planing Course last weekend - BZ! 👍🏻

⭐ LC Evan participated with the Wessex District Band at the Southern Area Competition on what was a VERY hot but extremely successful day - BZ! 👍🏻

⭐ Shoreside, Cadet lower rates and Junior Cadets all had more fun exploring our weather and making weather instruments with thanks to Cdr Kristiansen (past SSO) who has been supporting us with Met instruction, even though there’s been a limited amount of wind 💨 and clouds ☁️ to facilitate experiential learning !

⭐ Thursday evening saw a substantial gathering of CFAV at the Unit for a great Staff Meeting with tapas as a “thank you” from OiC, 1st Lt & DetC for everyones’ hard work over the past couple of months 🙏🏻

⭐ AC Charlie passed his Cadet Drill Instructors course at Weymouth SCTC with flying colours - BZ! 👍🏻

⭐ PO Ferriroli was so “anchor-faced” on his hols that he crept up on TS Royalist Sea Cadets Offshore to say hi to our favourite Bosun on board!

A great week of holiday fun all round !!! 🙌🏻 🥳 Enjoy the rest of it this weekend and remember to get uniform sorted for VIP Divisions on Tuesday next week!

It was an honour to have Warsash SCC represented at the Duke of Edinburgh Awards 70th Anniversary and Gold Presentations Celebration, hosted by HRH Prince Edward, the Duke of Edinburgh at Buckingham Palace on Wednesday.

PO Stocks was invited to attend in recognition of his DofE Leadership role in the Unit, supporting TS Tormentor in being a very high achieving Unit in terms of delivering the DofE experience to so many cadets, past and present.

Looks like you had a wonderful day alongside all the other SCC representatives and Gold Award recipients. A well deserved special occasion and thank you for your dedication - BZ! 👏
