Emilia’s year as Thelwall Rose Queen 2025 🌺
As we say goodbye to our fantastic Rose Queen, Emilia, we’d like to thank her for a truly memorable year. Her warmth, enthusiasm and commitment have made a lasting impression on us all. We asked her to look back on her time in the role and share her thoughts…
Have you enjoyed your year as Thelwall Rose Queen, and what has it meant to you?
I have. It has meant the world to me. I was very nervous but everyone was so welcoming and lovely to me. Following in the steps of my family as rose queen for the village has felt like a lovely tradition.
What has been your favourite moment during your reign?
I can’t choose. Bingo night with the ladies was so much fun; Unveiling the time capsule for Thelwall 1100 was such an important event for the village; Attending and reading in church; And obviously the actual day which was amazing.
Is there a particular day or event that really stands out to you?
The day after I was crowned when we attended church and Douglas made the service so fun, laughing with the congregation is such a great memory
How has the role helped you grow as a person?
It has given me so much more confidence and I have really enjoyed being part of the village community
What’s next for you after stepping down?
I have joined a school group to offer our school, and others in the local area, with support and advice on the importance of mental health.
As Jenny prepares to take on the role of Rose Queen, what advice would you share with her?
To be herself, relax and enjoy your reign.
Thank you, Emilia, for being a wonderful Rose Queen and for representing our community so beautifully. We wish you all the very best for the future and look forward to welcoming Jenny as our new Thelwall Rose Queen.
