Very sad news - Su did so much for our community, and leaves a tremendous legacy which benefits us all.
All of us at Lymm Festival send our thoughts and condolences to her family.
The Transport Day Committee has been deeply saddened by the passing of Su Williams, who was awarded an MBE for her 25 years of service to the local community.
Over the years Su was a Governor of Oughtrington Primary School, an active member of the Lymm Festival team, a contributor to Lymm in Bloom and the founder of the Food Festival. She served as a Parish Councillor for four years, was a Trustee of the Lymm Heritage Centre and in 2012 stepped in to help save the Youth and Community Centre.
Many will know her for opening her own garden for the Art In The Garden scheme, which ran for ten years and attracted thousands of participants. She also volunteered her time to help with Lymm Historic Transport Day (below with her grandchildren at the 2019 event). She will be much missed by the village.
