Today the Speak Up 4 All group had a session on friendships and how they help to make our lives better.

We had a positive discussion about how they can affect our well-being and looked at ways to make the most of our connections with others.

We also talked about how we can manage changes in our friendships and the importance of always being respectful.

We also had an update about the Gen AI project from Jenny, Naomi, Em and Sarah who told the group about last week’s workshops and how they have been looking at ideas of how AI may help to improve our lives.

Today the Gen AI project group met with the Manchester Met Research team for an ideas workshop.

It was a full day with lots of discussion and ideas about how AI could help people with learning disabilities.

Some very creative thinking and very good suggestions for making something that could help with our daily lives.

Jenny and Tom, our co researchers will be going to a meeting at the university in December to help to decide on which idea will be used going forward.

Lots of positive feedback from everyone about this exciting project.

Yesterday the Speak Up 4 All group had a session on contacting our GP surgery online. We talked about how and why we may do this and people shared their experiences.

Some people said that they prefer to phone or to attend their practice and that it is important to be able to do this as they are unable or do not want to use online services.

Jenny also shared a video from Creative Support, showing how support staff help her to make the most of her life. Everyone applauded Jenny for the video and said she should be very proud of this filming.
