Our Neston Fund supported a mum who said: "It’s very hard to accept help and let a stranger into your home, to play with your children and to open up emotionally. The fact that I knew she was a volunteer and a mother herself made it less stressful. The girls and I have made a great friend. She gives me the extra push to do things myself and I get nothing but encouragement. I do more around the house, more with the girls, I go out with the girls. I feel happier, I feel like I can do anything. I feel like I’m their Mum now."

With a proud industrial heritage centred around the rail industry and manufacturing, Crewe is the largest town in south Cheshire. On visiting one of the impressive employment areas such as Crewe Business Park, you could be forgiven for not realising how different the town is just a few miles away.

The most deprived wards in Cheshire East are in Crewe: that's over 36,000 people facing real daily challenges. 27% of adults have no formal qualifications, 34% have no car and the number of people claiming Job Seekers' Allowance/Universal Credit is almost twice the national average.

Crewe has an incredible network of charities and organisations who are working together to tackle these issues. Our Crewe Fund is the perfect way to support these projects, safe in the knowledge that we've assessed each application and will monitor the impact.

In parts of Macclesfield residents are facing 60% unemployment, 24% of children are living in relative poverty, and life expectancy is a shocking 8 years less than nearby Wilmslow.
If you agree that this needs to change, join us. We've created a fund for Macclesfield, so that local grassroots organisations can apply for funding that could keep them going more sustainably than the odd fundraiser or donation drive. They make one application to us, so they can focus on the work that really matters; whether that's tackling isolation for older people, education projects to improve that employment rate, or supporting families in poverty.
It's a smart way to change the dial on some of those statistics, building a community in Macclesfield where everyone can thrive. If you want to be part of the solution, donate today here: https://cheshirecommunityfoundation.org.uk/macclesfield-fund/ or contact Marie with any questions: [email protected]

Did you know you can now make one donation that goes to all kinds of incredible charity projects in Macclesfield? Our Macclesfield Fund launches soon and is already taking donations from people and businesses who truly care about the town.
From children and families to older people and green spaces, there are amazing and vital projects helping Macclesfield to thrive, but many of them are too small or too busy to spread the word about their work. That's where we come in: donors give to us, and grassroots organisations apply for those funds. We make sure projects are safe and needed, and keep track of their impact too.

This week marks National Carers Week, a time to recognise the incredible people who care for others, often quietly, tirelessly, and without enough recognition.

Across Cheshire, we want to say a heartfelt thank you to the amazing charities and organisations supporting unpaid carers with advice, respite, compassion and a listening ear. Your work provides comfort, connection and vital support to so many people every single day.

Our Warrington Fund opened in 2024 with donations from local people and key business supporters. We researched the issues residents were facing and made £155,000+ in grants to inspiring local projects. Since then we've boosted that total to over £280,000 going to life-changing projects for local people. From food banks to families, disability to dads' mental health, local donations are going straight to where they're needed most. Get involved if you believe in a future for Warrington where everyone can thrive. https://cheshirecommunityfoundation.org.uk/warrington-fund/
