✨ Today we launch our new brand! ✨

POPS has always stood for families – and our refreshed identity and new website are here to reflect that more clearly than ever.

Over the coming weeks, you’ll start to see our new look across our website, leaflets, social media and in our visitor centres. Please know that while our appearance is changing, the heart of what we do remains the same. We are still here to support you and your family, just as we always have.

Our rebrand is about making it easier for families to feel connected, informed, and supported. It honours our history while showing the breadth of what we do today—supporting families both inside and outside the justice system, creating spaces where lived experience is heard, and making sure families feel valued and empowered.

We’re also excited to share our new website...

A simpler, more accessible way to find information, services, and resources.

We would love to hear your feedback on the new brand via our quick 4 question survey:

We look forward to sharing more with you in the coming weeks!

POPS isn’t an acronym anymore. POPS stands for families.

*** Legal Aid Clinic ***

Children Heard and Seen have recently received funding from the FireBird Foundation to develop a Legal Advice Clinic. The clinic is for parent/carers looking after children with a parent in prison. The aim of the clinic is to encourage stability and promote justice for families impacted by parental imprisonment. The focus is on the family members outside, and not the person in prison.

This service is open and free to anyone caring for children with a parent in prison, from any organisation. Please get in touch with Children Heard and Seen if you would like to access the clinic.

*** STOP LOAN SHARKS ***

Recently, the STOP LOAN SHARKS have been focusing resources on assisting communities whose first language is not English and who may be targeted by loan sharks/illegal money lenders. Challenges providing identification, income, or poor credit score, can all result in people being targeted, by Illegal Money Lenders. These may appear to be a concerned local, possibly speaking the same language, offering to ‘help’ with a loan. Unfortunately this can lead to being charged extortionate interest and threats (name and shame on social media), intimidation and harassment. Presently, there is a real risk that people are not aware that the situation they are in, is illegal lending and they may not know where to access help and support.

STOP LOAN SHARKS been working with ClearVoice translation company and now have resources translated into 20 languages, including: Bengali, Dari, Lithuanian, Latvian, Pashto, Urdu, Arabic, Chinese, Chinese (simplified), Czech, Farsi, Hindi, Hungarian, Kurdish Sorani, Polish, Portuguese, Punjabi, Romanian, Russian, Tigrinya.

If you know someone who you think may be struggling financially or has taken out a loan with no paperwork or receipts please visit www.stoploansharks.co.uk/resources to access support materials in the languages outlined above to help them access the support they need.
