Youth Alpha Week 2... WHO IS JESUS?

😎 If you could be famous, what would you want to be famous for?
🤔 Why do you think Jesus is so famous?

13 young people gathered after school to continue with Youth Alpha, exploring life's big questions and discussing who Jesus actually is and how He has changed history.

Even the way we number our years is based on His birth!... 🤯

And yet, we can have a relationship with Him now.

We'll chat about that more in Youth Alpha Week 3 😊

😊What makes you happy?

🕘 If you had 24 hours to do anything you wanted, what would you do?

🗨 If you could ask God anything, what would you ask?

We had 12 young people gather for the first session of ALPHA YOUTH at Boteler on Friday, as we started exploring those deeper questions.

We talked about all the things that make us happy in life... and yet when we get the things we want, often it isn't enough. We always seek the next big thing. Nothing ever fully satisfies.

What if knowing God our Creator could be what ultimately meets all of our needs and gives us fulfilment and contentment?

Session 2, this Friday 3-4pm in Boteler!

Hey, it's Rach (Birchwood worker) here, and I love it when young people come to us as youth workers with their questions 🗨

It shows that they are thinking about things, that they are searching for truth, even if we don't have all the answers.

On Friday nights in Birchwood, we looked at a series of questions voted on by our young people, and my favourite session of last half term was "Do I trust that God is good?"

Young people were encouraged to ask themselves this question and respond in different ways, finding some space and talking to God through their pen.

We put on some instrumental worship music, and they asked for more time and just kept writing. It was a beautiful moment of giving young people space to wrestle with difficult questions and to wrestle with God, not away from Him.

I hope that one day each young person will come across that piece of paper and look back on how God showed Himself to be good and trustworthy to them ❤

Every Thursday morning, the YFC team meet for devotions - a time of worship, prayer, seeking God and interceding for young people.

We've been following a resource from called Battle Plan, and we've felt lead to focus on praying for...

🙏 Safety and protection for this generation
❤ Young people encountering God for themselves
📖 Getting God's word into people's lives

Why not join with us in praying for these things?
