Warrington District Camera Club We are a group of people who enjoy photography in an open and friendly way.

Our members enjoy a variety of photographic disciplines, and have plenty of knowledge and experience that they are willing and keen to share.

Our next club night is tomorrow evening, where we will meet in person at Winwick and have the pleasure of viewing photographs from the Lancashire & Cheshire Photographic Union (L&CPU) Folio, with whom our club are affiliated. They showcase a collection of work submitted to recent L&CPU Annual Competitions.

This will be an enjoyable evening with us having the opportunity to be up close with some fantastic photography.

📸 Open Competition Results 👏🏻

Thank you to everyone who entered their photographs into our recent ‘Open’ competition. We received 74 images, showcasing an amazing range of creativity, skill and photographic talent.

The standard of entries was incredible, making it a difficult task for our judge, Carol Watson, who had the challenging job of selecting the award-winning images. Also not only did Carol judge the images she gave great advice on how to improve them when needed, after hearing feedback this was something our new members found encouraging.

🥇 Congratulations to the members who had photos awarded, and well done to everyone who took part. Whether you received an award or not, every entry provided us with inspiration and ideas.

For our 4th and final Club Competition the topic is ‘Action’ this will be judged in January, so plenty of time to capture the ‘Action’ 😉

Tomorrow evening is our 3rd Competition of the year, and the subject is 'Open Category'. Each time we have an Open Competition we have seen such a wide selection of images including Portraits, Cityscapes, Landscapes, Mono, Wildlife & Macro, inspiring members to try a different genre and develop their photography.

The competition will be held online via Zoom and meeting details have been sent out via email to all members.

Non members are welcome to join- please direct message for zoom link.

Competition results 📸

Our 2nd Competition of the year was on the topic of ‘Nature’ we received over 60 entries, 61 to be precise. We had photographs depicting Nature as Trees, Flowers, Wildlife & Weather it was fascinating seeing such a variety of stunning photography.

Congratulations to everyone who had photos awarded, especially those with a Podium Finish! 🥇

Tonight members will be presenting their favourite photos captured by themselves and explaining why it’s in their Top 10.
No doubt we’ll see some fascinating photographs and hear some very interesting stories behind them.

🌅 Wow! What a stunning evening we were blessed with on our club outing to New Brighton; the colours in the sky were magnificent.
Thanks to Bernard for arranging the evening; it was enjoyed by all. I’ve seen some of the photograph’s members have captured from the evening and they are fantastic! These will be shared soon…watch this space 📸.

The feedback we got from last Monday’s club night at Winwick Lesuire Centre was wonderful!
A huge thanks once again to Adrian and Miles for their fantastic presentations on ‘Composition’ & ‘An Introduction to Macro Photography’. Bravo! 👏🏻👏🏻

Next Monday, we are heading out to New Brighton for a Photowalk. We will be meeting at 19:30pm. These evenings are always enjoyable and, if past walks are anything to go by, there will be some amazing images captured.
