Return visit with a twist!
This week we were back at Royal Preston Hospital with our friends in the Neonatal Department. Delivering our second shipment of OAW bears for mums when they need them most.
Only this time we have got involved with Bereavement Central at Royal Preston Hospital - allowing even more people at Royal Preston Hospital to have access to our OAW bears and spreading the word even further about OAW and the aims of the charity

We simply can’t believe it is already our 3rd visit already to our friends at Royal Preston Critical Care. Providing our OAW bears means that the Preston staff can continue to meet the needs of so many families both today and in the future. Only by the continued support of all our wonderful fund raisers are we able to continue with helping support all the NHS organisations that we supply with our OAW memory bears.
Together we make it happen.

Following on from demand for the bears at Salford Royal critical care department we called in this week for a much needed re delivery of 80 more bears.
Week on week our bears are finding homes with those that need them most. Only with the continued effort of all our supporters are we able to continue supporting departments across all the hospitals and institutions Oliver Abel’s Wish has established connections with.
Our thanks go out to all our supporters and we are pleased to report our continued efforts in helping the people we can.

We’d like to say a massive thankyou to Lorna Baker who has been running all over the summer. She has raised a massive £500 for us 💚
She has ran the Isle of Man & Cottam canter marathons, Manchester & Eyam half marathons, super sonic ( 6 day event) and Tour of Tamside ( 4 day event)
That’s a hell of a lot of running 🏃‍♀️

⚽️FOOTBALL FESTIVAL 2026⚽️

What day 💚 Thankyou so much to all the players and supporters that came along and made it another amazing day.
The atmosphere was brilliant 🤩.
Congratulations to the winners. The level of football was outstanding 👏👏.
Blow away by everyone’s enthusiasm on and off the pitch.

We are delighted to be able to share our latest news with everyone. Joining the OAW team this week areEast Cheshire Hospice. Jilly and Nicola met the team with 40 of our special memory OAW bears. The nurses were delighted to see the arrival of the bears which provide such a support at the most needed time.
OAW continues to grow our network and reach out to more people who we hope to be able to help.

Today we have been out delivering our special memory bears, one of our visits was to Moya Cole Hospice, Greater Manchester. Our bears were very much welcomed by all the staff, knowing what a help they will be to families of the patients in Moya Cole hospice.
We are so grateful for everyone’s support to help us keep getting our special bears into all the hospitals & hospices.

We are very proud to say our bears are now in the neonatal intensive care unit in Preston hospital! Once again none of this would be possible without the help from you all so thankyou again for helping us make a difference one bear at a time!!

Today we were out delivering our special bears, and once again we visited Warrington Hospital—this time to the children’s A&E department.

It’s a place no family ever wants to be, and sadly, not every child makes it beyond those doors. In moments like these, something as simple as one of our bears can bring a small sense of comfort, love, and support when it’s needed most.

Knowing that our bears may help families through such unimaginable times reminds us why we do what we do.
