The next few days are going to be very hot. Excess and prolonged heat can impact our health and wellbeing, so it's important to take care.

☀️ Keep out of the heat if you can. If you have to go outside, stay in the shade especially between 11am and 3pm, wear sunscreen, a hat and light clothes, and avoid exercise or activity that makes you hotter.

💧 Cool yourself down. Have cold food and regular cold drinks. Drink extra fluids but avoid alcohol, caffeine and hot drinks, and have a cool shower or put cool water on your skin or clothes.

🏡 Keep your living space cool. Close windows, curtains and blinds during the day and open them at night when the temperature outside has gone down. Electric fans can help if the temperature is below 35 degrees.

🌡️ Check the temperature of rooms, especially where people at higher risk live and sleep, and make sure to check on anyone who is at higher risk from the heat.

Could you chair the Hulme Neighbourhood Board?
The Chair will be appointed through an open recruitment process led by Warrington Borough Council, in consultation with the local MP for the area, Charlotte Nichols.

The Voluntary Chair will act as a champion for Hulme and local people, supporting and organising engagement that reaches out into the community to ensure decision‑making is community‑led. With the support of Warrington Borough Council and Charlotte Nichols MP, the Chair will lead the recruitment and convening of the Neighbourhood Board.

Once appointed, the Chair and Board members will work together to engage the local community and develop a 10-year plan to deliver locally agreed priorities. Charlotte Nichols MP will be a member of the Hulme Pride in Place Neighbourhood Board.
