This year, the Biggest Night of Musicals is proud to support two incredible causes: Mind and The Sheila Toomey Award.
Mind is one of the leading mental health charities in England and Wales, dedicated to ensuring that no one has to face a mental health problem alone. Through information services, helplines, local support groups, and community programmes, Mind provides vital help to people experiencing mental health challenges. The charity also campaigns to improve mental health services, fight stigma, and ensure that everyone has access to the care and understanding they deserve. With more than 100 local branches across the country, Mind supports people in their communities with advice, support networks, and safe spaces to talk.
Alongside this, the event also supports The Sheila Toomey Award, created in memory of one of the founding members of the Warminster Athenaeum Trust. Established in 2003, the award helps young people with exceptional talent who wish to pursue careers in the arts, including drama, dance, and visual art. The fund provides financial assistance to aspiring performers and creatives, helping them take the next steps in their artistic journeys and develop their skills both on and off stage. Over the years, the award has supported dozens of local young people as they pursue their dreams in the performing arts.
By attending and supporting the Biggest Night of Musicals, audiences are not only celebrating the magic of musical theatre, but also helping to support mental health services and nurture the next generation of artists.
