Yesterday was our last time we will be out for 2025. The team are having a well earned rest. Have the most amazing Christmas and the best new year and we see you all in 2026.

One of the young people we have the privilege of working with won this years young persons civic award. Huge well done.

Civic Awards celebrate outstanding local people

Local community heroes have been celebrated at the town’s annual Civic Awards.

The awards, organised by Warminster Town Council, recognise local people who demonstrate community spirit and have ‘gone the extra mile’.

Andy Clark was the winner of the Civic Award for his tireless work and passion with Warminster’s branch of the Royal British Legion. Jennie Gilling was awarded the Civic Green Award for her commitment and work with the Community Orchard. Phoebe Leigh Grant received the Junior Civic Award for her dedication and support as a young carer. The Mayor’s special award for kindness to the community went to Dave Crump, the town’s Number 50 bus driver.

The awards are nominated by the public and voted for by Warminster town councillors.

As part of our detached work we also work with ten young people we see on the streets in school and this feedback is testament to the work we do “

To not be able to walk around school without hearing your name being shouted and a young person running up to you with excitement is be reason why we do what we do. To be that trusted adult in their life is invaluable.

Today a young person messaged us and asked when we are next out. There’s no greater feeling of reward than having that invaluable connection and knowing the young people want to see us.

When the young people ask when we’re out and come out to see us makes it all worth it.

As well as working with the young people on the streets in their own social space we also go into schools and today we were able to intervene and stop a young person being suspended. talking things through and allowing a young person space to build this and cannel their energy turned a negative situation in to a positive. Schools are stretched and sometimes a young person just needs some time with a trusted adult that school can’t give.
