Nurse Prabha's (Kani Kusruti) daily life in Mumbai takes an unexpected turn when a surprise present arrives from her estranged husband. Her younger roommate, Anu, faces frustration in her quest to secure a private spot in the city to be intimate with her partner. A trip to a beach town allows them to find a space for their desires to manifest.

Dear Members,
71 attended the last film Dead of Winter and gave it a score of 55%.
Our next film on Wednesday is The Colour Room. Based on the life of ceramic artist Clarice Cliff. She revolutionised a pottery factory in the 1920s with her unique style of colourful patterns in the Art Deco style.

Based on the life of ceramic artist Clarice Cliff (Phoebe Dynevor) who broke the glass ceiling and revolutionised the workplace at a pottery factory in the 1920s. Cliff knew that there was a huge stock of undecorated sub-standard ceramics held in the pottery. She covered up the imperfections on them with bright Art Deco-style patterns and helped the factory survive the Great Depression.

Dear Members,
80 attended the last film Save The Cinema and gave it a score of 86%.Who knew the Go Compare man was part of that.when he was young.
The film on Wednesday is Dead of Winter storing Emma Thompson. This film was recommended to us by one of our members,It was a shame we weren't able to get the rights to show it in the winter season. This film is an action packed thriller, a grief stricken widow stops at a remote cabin after getting lost.and encounters a murderous couple holding a young woman hostage.
We are always happy to consider your recommendations.

Warminster & District Film Society next film is "Save The Cinema" on Wednesday 22 April 2026, (7.30pm) - 1 hours 45 minutes Cert. 12A (UK - 2022)
Based on the true, moving story of Liz Evans, a hairdresser and leader of a youth theatre in Carmarthen, Wales who started a campaign in 1993 to save the Lyric Cinema from closure and demolition. She and a local councillor enlist the help of Steven Spielberg, securing a special premiere for his blockbuster film Jurassic Park.

Dear Warminster & District Film Society Members, 81 attended Downton Abbey which scored an excellent 87%.
An early reminder about the next film at the Athenaeum Centre. The film on 25th is Lee staring Kate Winslet. Based on the true story of an ex model who becomes a war correspondent for Vogue magazine she captured some of the most harrowing and iconic photos of the 2nd world war.
Some trivia for you from Andrew Frostick this film will be the 350 film shown at the Athenaeum. Some of the older members may have seen most of them.

Dear Members.
112 attended the last film The Ballard of Wallis Island, and it scored highly at 83% appreciation. The first film of the new season is on Wednesday, Downton Abbey The Grand Finale. Please renew your membership if you haven't already done so. Members who have renewed on-line your cards will be available to collect at any film night. (There may be some disruption to seats in the balcony while decorating works are being carried out. We look forward to seeing you)

Dear Members.
110 people attended the last film Ocean and it received a rating of 92%. It was nice to see some youngsters in the audience.
Our next film on Wednesday is The Ballard of Wallis Island,
This is the last film of the winter season, the new season begins on 11th March so memberships will need to be renewed. This can be done on any film night and if you have a standing order set up your new membership card will be available from the start of the season.
I have attached a new programme but a paper copy will be available from the Athenaeum. Membership remains at £24 per person per season. We hope you will like the films we have chosen

Washed up folk singer Herb McGwyer (Tom Basden) travels to a remote island to play a private gig for "less than" 100 people. The audience of one turns out to be Charles (Tim Key), lottery winner and Herb super-fan. Unbeknownst to Herb, Charles has invited Herb's former co-writer and lover Nell (Carey Mulligan) to get the band back together.
