🚧 Temporary Closure Notice 🚧
Our community centre is temporarily closed while we carry out renovation work.
During this time, our team will be working remotely, and our daily drop-in service will be suspended for a short period. Our weekly community social gathering will restart when we reopen at the end of August.
If you need any support or assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us on 0777 555 7448. We're still here to help.

Birmingham we are coming
Starting this Thursday, we are launching our weekly drop-in community advice sessions in Birmingham. Whether you need a listening ear, guidance on a specific issue, or just want to see how we can support you, just pop in.

Today, we had the pleasure of attending the The Great Get Together event, organised by Klara Margetts

It was wonderful to see so many people from different backgrounds coming together to share delicious food, connect with one another, and enjoy a welcoming and positive atmosphere. Events like this remind us of the strength of our diverse communities and the importance of building friendships, understanding, and belonging.

A big thank you to Klara and everyone involved in organising such a fantastic community event. We are grateful to have been part of this special day alongside our community members.

قسمیکه شما آګاهی دارید بیشتر از دو دهه میشود که مرکز اجتماعی و رفاهی افغان‌ها( افغان کمیونیتی ایند ولفیر سنتر) خدمات افتخارآمیزی را در جهت حمایت از مهاجرین افغان در انگلستان بخصوص در وست میدلندز (شهر والسال) ارائه میکند. جامعه افغانها در طول این سالها در همکاری نزدیک با دیګر جوامع رشد چشمگیری نموده است. امروز ما از خانواده‌های افغان، افراد و اشخاص بدون خانواده با هر پیشینه‌ای که دارند در سفرشان به سوی ادغام در جامعه وسیع حمایت می‌کنیم و درصورت ضرورت په آنها مشوره و پشتیبانی طولانی‌مدت ارائه می‌کنیم. از اینکه جامعه ما خدمات ارزشمندی را برای تمام مهاجرین مقیم والسال از اقوام و اقشار مختلف ارائه میکند جا دارد که اسم آن نیز همه شمول باشد. از همین رو رهبری جامعه افغانها مقیم والسال تصمیم ګرفته است تا جهت انعکاس واقعی ماموریت فراگیر خود، اسم و برند جامعه خود را تغییر دهیم. و اینجا جایی است که ما ازشما درخواست میکنیم تا شما وارد عمل شده ودر برگزیدن اسم نظریات و پیشنهادات خودرا با ما شریک سازید. ما میخواهیم تا اسمی را انتخاب کنیم که نه تنها به ریشه‌ها و میراث افغانی ما احترام ګذاشته بلکه از همه کسانی که اکنون به آنها افتخار ارائه خدمت هستیم نماینده ګی کند.
بنآ ما از شما افغانهای عزیز، همکاران، و دوستان عزیز صمیمانه تقاضا میکنیم تا در انتخاب یک اسم باما نظریات خودرا شریک سازید. نظریات شما می‌تواند هر نامی باشد تا مکانی را توصیف کند که ریشه مهمان‌نوازی افغان‌ها در آن وجود داشته باشد اما برای همه مردم باز باشد: بطور مثال :مرکزی برای استقبال، ادغام و تعلق، خاطره طولانی مدت، خانه‌ دور از وطن برای مهاجرین تازه وارد؟

For over 20 years, the Afghan Community and Welfare Centre has been a proud pillar of support for Afghan migrants arriving in Walsall and beyond. But as our community has grown and evolved, so have we.

Today, we support families and individuals from all backgrounds on their journey to integration, offering long-term support to every new arrival who needs a helping hand. To truly reflect our inclusive mission, we have decided to change our name and rebrand!

This is where you come in. We want a name that honours our Afghan roots and heritage while warmly welcoming everyone we now serve.

We are asking our wonderful community, colleagues, and friends for your ideas!

What name would capture a place that is:

Rooted in Afghan hospitality but open to all?
A centre for welcome, integration, and long-term belonging?
A home away from home for every new arrival?

It was great to end the week talking about funding opportunities with colleagues from across the city and region as a part of the Birmingham Citizens UK Business Leaders Group, representing Afghan Community & Welfare Centre Walsall. We're looking forward to further expanding what we offer to refugees and people in need by working with other organisations.

Yesterday, as part of the national campaign A Million Acts of Hope, the Afghan community in Walsall is proud to support and thank the incredible NHS staff at Walsall Manor Hospital through the distribution of traditional Afghan food.

This small gesture is a way of expressing our deep gratitude for the hard work, compassion, and dedication shown by staff every day in caring for our communities.

On behalf of the Afghan community in Walsall, we believe that acts of kindness and hope bring communities together and strengthen the spirit of unity and support.

A sincere thank you to all NHS staff for everything you do.
