🌟 KIC SUCCESS STORY: MOLLY STRAFFORD 🌟
Today we say goodbye to Molly who over the last year has been an incredible volunteer and over the last 12 weeks a member of our team!
Molly joined KIC in Summer 2025, bringing with her a passion for creativity, filmmaking and telling stories that matter.
Since joining KIC, Molly has continued to grow in confidence, develop her creative skills and gain valuable experience across radio, podcasting, filmmaking and social media.
🎬 One of Molly’s standout achievements has been creating her own short film, Switchblade, a powerful project exploring the impact of knife crime on young people and communities.
Molly put her filmmaking skills into action, taking her ideas from concept through to production and creating a project that encouraged important conversations around an issue affecting young people and communities.
But Molly hasn’t just been developing her own skills, she’s been sharing them with others too.
Molly has supported the training of young people in radio broadcasting, podcasting and social media content creation, helping them learn everything from planning and using equipment, through to production and editing.
It’s fantastic to see Molly move from being a young person developing her own creative skills at KIC to becoming someone who can support, guide and inspire other young people to find their own creative voices.
12 weeks ago, Molly took another exciting step in her journey, starting a paid work placement through Walsall Works – Youth Trailblazer, working as a Content Creator.
This opportunity has given Molly valuable, real-world experience in the creative industries and allowed her to further develop the skills and confidence she first began building through KIC.
And now, Molly is taking another huge step forward… Molly is heading to Bath Spa University to study BA (Hons) Film, TV, and Digital Production!
From joining KIC in Summer 2025, to creating her own short film, training other young people, securing paid creative work and now progressing to university to pursue her passion, Molly’s journey is a brilliant example of what young people can achieve when they’re given the opportunity, encouragement and platform to develop their talents.
