OK, back to the important stuff. We go again with our 'Off The Track' session on Sunday June 7th at the Weatsheaf Pub in Walsall. May's edition with Frenchie guesting will take some following but we'll be in capable hands with our guest DJ Andy Hooton (JazzFunkSoulRadio). Andy, from Wolverhamton but now residing in Leicestershire has a long and soul/funk drenched history, he started DJing in the late 70's and like a lot of us was a regular visitor to clubs such as The Ritz in Manchester, Blackpool Mecca, Birmingham Locarno plus countless others. Andy has been a radio broadcaster for several years and is currently DJing two shows a week on JazzFunkSoulRadio station. Expect quality Funk/House/Club/Soul. As usual, I'll be filling in around the edges. Hope to see you there.

Big, big thanks to everyone who turned out for Sunday's Off The Track. It's so heartwarming to know people are making long journeys to come and be part of the party. And party we did!! Frenchie aka Anthony Quailey dropping acetate after acetate and doing what he is so good at in his own professional style, filled that guest slot with class. We were privileged to witness a very rare, and indeed his last, vinyl set. Thank you sir. Once again the Birmingham dancers kicked off the action and then there was no going back, the whole room was rocking till the later than anticipated end of session. Thanks for the wonderful support.

Ok, Ok, Okay....February is on the way and on Sunday1st you need to be at the Wheatsheaf in Walsall for the 1st 'Off The Track' of 2026. We've got some stellar DJs booked for the months ahead and we are going to start with a wonderful DJ from Birmingham land, now residing in Dudley. DJ XL is a radio DJ who has had shows on Newstyle Radio, Lifted Life (London), Blue Dot Radio (Birmingham), Frenchie's Sonic Stream radio, Back2House and T.U.R.N Chicago. You could say she has form. Normally XL would be blending soulful house grooves but she will be digging out the old School 70s/80s vinyl for you at Off The Track. It's going to be a great kick off for the year and I hope to see some of you in the room.

I'd just like to thank everyone who has supported 'Off The Track' at the Wheatsheaf Pub in Walsall in 2025. We've had some great nights and the guest DJs have all added their own magic to each event. Thanks and respect go out to Roy Grey, Les Beaton, Trevor Carthy, and Banner King. Next year promises to be extra special with some top class guests lined up. We are going to give January a miss and start fresh and strong on Sunday February 1st 2026. So have yourselves a merry Christmas and the happiest of new year's eves, and we'll see you on the other side with more Soul, Jazz, Funk, Disco and connoisseur grooves from the 70's through to right bang now.
