Walsall North Foodbank A foodbank to serve those in need in the North Walsall area. Pelsall Methodist Church, Chapel St. Open Tues 11am-1pm & Fri 1-3pm.

The foodbank stores or 'banks' food donated by the community, and can be drawn on by people in crisis. It is a simple and unique concept designed to help individuals in crisis by providing free emergency food for three days (10 balanced meals). Three days is the period assessed as being the minimum time it takes for the appropriate agencies to be in a position where they are able to assist. This p

eriod can be extended if necessary.We collect food from the public at supermarkets, from churches and through local groups and schools, and this is 'banked' in a store. Food is drawn in two ways, both of which operate as a result of referrals from registered Care Professionals such as Social Services, Health Visitors, Probation Officers, Church Pastoral Workers, schools and others working in the front line of poverty. This foodbank operates on a voucher system.

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT

The food bank will have restricted opening sessions this coming week commencing 13th October.

Tuesday's session from 11-1.00pm will have a reduced capacity for food parcels, with NO DELIVERIES available.

We will be closed for the Friday session from 1-3.00pm.

We will try to catch up with any backlog week commencing 20th October.

We apologise for any inconvenience this causes to our clients, referral agencies and the public who may wish to visit the Foodbank this week.

Right now, more and more people are turning to food banks just to get by. Food banks are doing everything they can to support people, but they need your help.

Food banks provide so much more than just food. 💚

They also provide advice on money matters, offer a listening ear, and make a decent cup of tea.

This extra support is a lifeline and reduces the chances of someone needing to turn to a food bank again.
