This Pride Month, we're celebrating our community, our history, and the progress that has been made — but we're also recognising why Pride is still needed today.

Across the UK and around the world, many LGBTQ+ people, particularly our trans and non-binary siblings, are facing increasing challenges to their rights, visibility, and inclusion. At a time when some would rather see our community pushed backwards, Pride remains a powerful statement that we are here, we belong, and we will not be silenced.

At the same time, Pride events across the country are struggling. Rising costs, reduced funding, and lower ticket sales have already led to some local Pride events cancelling this year. Every cancellation means one less safe space, one less celebration, and one less opportunity for our community to come together.
